major problem with my sm

the ddrmaniax forums are down right now so i can't post my problem over there.

but i have a problem with stepmania that maybe some of u can help me fix.

when i install sm, it'll run perfectly the first time around. as long as sm is the only program i run, itll run fine. but then when i exit out, and use ANY program, msword to call of duty, the next time i want to startup sm, nothing will happen. when i dbl click the shortcut or any .exe, nothing happens, not even any error pop-ups, its jus not responding. even when i restart the computer it does it. but when i unistall and reinstall sm, itll work jus like before then go out again.

it would be really nice if someone could help me with this problem since the ddrmaniax forums are down.

i don't think its my computer cuz im running a p4 1.6 ghz, geforce fx 5200, 768 mb ram, sound blaster live value.

Check your task manager when SM doesn't load. Maybe it's running in the background or something is in the way.

restart your comp, when its completly booted up hit ctrl+alt+delete and check whats running, startup then close sm, press ctrl alt delete again, if there is any new files running that wernt there before thats your problem, end them and then try running it again, if it works, yay we figured it out if it doesnt, well, sucks for you
