herbie wrote: | that'd be awesome if you could. by the way, if you do play pop'n a lot, you should try using ee-mall. all the songs on it are only available from purchasing them in ee-mall, which includes all new songs and bemani transplants (rottel-da-sun =D). you can find the current songlist here. judging by the massive list from ee-mall 1st avenue, there may still be more songs available later on. |
Well I took some pics of the machine, but they are on my camera right now. Have to find some time to move/resize them, etc. But no i don't play much pop'n(pretty much only play IIDX now). Actually today was the first time I've played popn 10 in like 2 months. I guess the the machine has changed a bit now. I'm pretty sure the last time i played on it before, the max high speed you could select was HS4, but today i was able to play on HS6!
Anyway, i only played 2 games, so i didnt really notice/pay attention to anything else. Although for some reason my ee-mall card didn't want to work on that one machine. I got it/created info and stuff like 3-4 months ago so i'm not sure what was wrong with it. Maybe its my card or the machine. I prolly should have tried it out on one of the other popn 10 machines they had.(that small arcade i went to has 3 popn 10 machines)
So anyway hopefully i can get the pics up sometime soon.(my laptop is not working good now, so it may take awhile!) _________________

Actually, that's just Pop'n 1 to 4. Pop'n 5 had a surprisingly large songlist with lots of great songs, only with the CS, you had to put in these big long combinations of codes to unlock them. Not too fun. But really, 5 is a good mix. |
Uh, Pop'n 5 AC is missing a SHIT load of songs from the CS version. First of all, all the songs from Pop'n 6 are not there, as well as Classic 4 and a few other songs, Daikenkai, Foundation of Our Love, Power Folk 4, Classic 4, and Sentai are among the many songs from the CS that aren't in the AC version. Compared to 6 and above, 5 sucked balls. Hell, even Pink Rose is missing. Just about all the "unlockable" songs in Pop'n 5 CS are just not there in Pop'n 5 AC, because the bulk of the unlocks came from Pop'n 6 and 7.
EDIT: Aside from that, Pop'n 5 and below also had really crappy engines compared to Pop'n 6 and above. Pop'n 6 is generally the first Pop'n where everything improved - the graphics, the quality of music, the size of the songlists - everything just skyrocketed starting with 6. It's almost like Konami changed developers, that's how drastic it is..... _________________

Yes, AI has a Pop'n 9 machine, but I doubt I'll really bother to drive the 20 minutes into LA anymore even though they have it since I'll have Pop'n 9 (and I do have a Ransai and 8 at home now) in a couple of months for my PS2...
On another note, has anyone noticed that Pop'n Music really appeals to the ladies? I had four girls over at my house last night, and they wouldn't get off of it! They sucked pretty bad at first, but they became moderatly good over the course of 30 minutes. And they were all over the music, too... Anyone else had this happen? _________________

School girls love to dominate at Pop'n. I thought I was doing pretty good for my first couple times on Popn 9 and then this group of school girls comes over and just makes me look horrible at it. There was atleast one popn machine anywhere it looked like girls would hang out (one place was a Popn/Photo booth only arcade and it was packed ) _________________

I wish it would happen to me.
Would it happen at AI if I went again? I do have better experience now with Pop 'N Music than when I went last time. That is, if girls do go there often.
I got to go back there anyway. _________________

If I'm not mistaken, that's already been confirmed. _________________

I've read about the appends. It says it required the original; which one is this... Vol. 2? That's the only one I can find. _________________

Some of the PS1 Pop'n games were append disks, like Beatmania 3rd-5th were. I think 2, 3, and 4 were appends, and I think 1, 5, and 6 were key disks.
I could be wrong, though. I only have Best Hits. |

You're looking for "mahou no tobira". Chances are, you can't read that title (even though it's also spelled out the same way in DDR), but you can look for the "Anime Heroine" genre. As far as the console versions go, the song is on pop'n music 6 and Best Hits, as far as I know. _________________

And Pop'n 5 CS.
And Pop'n 5 or Pop'n 2 will work as a key disc for 3 and 4. I'd recommend skipping those two entirely (unless you REALLY want to play Coquettish or Okinawa on Normal) and going to 5 and 6 right away. _________________
