I bought the el cheapo soft pad from BNSUSA (its silver and has the blue and pink arrows) And in a dancing fury i seem to have stepped on the plastic covering that the cord comes out of, pretty much obliterating the casing. The lights are all intact but one set of 3 came off and a grey cord was severed that runs into the controller chord. Now don't yell at me for buying the pad, I just started ddring a week ago, and i dont have too much money, $30 bucks max. Any help BESIDES throwing it out and buying a new one. Thanks for the help...

Yo, wassup all?
I live at a residential arts high school and have been playing DDr for about 6 months now, along with about four other people. We bought DDRMax2 and two $30 dollar Non-Slip pads from Sam Goody's (the actual store; not a website). We ( read: I) have nearly worn those pads out; the stick alot on a certain arrow and you have to stomp most of the time for the sensor to even register the step.
I have recently moved up to trying the hardest songs on DDRMax2: Maxx Unlimited, Burning Heat, So Deep, etc. I have passed every song on every difficulty, on single. I have attempted to do soem doubles, but the pads slip too much...
I was thinking about ordering the $40 Non-Slip pads from www.ddrgame.com...Is this a smart idea. I need to order two decent pads adn only have $107 in which to do it with. Oh yeah, and how much does shipping and handling cost? How long does it usually toake to deliver?

Thanks!

TO THOSE WITH UN-MODDED SOFT PADS:

A few people have asked me how to keep their soft-pad in better shape and stuff, but in all reality, I needed just as much help as them. The only really advice I can come up with is to NOT fold and re-fold your soft pad.

I'm not real mechanic-y savvy so I don't know exactly what it damages, but just be sure to store your pad flat.

(If this is common knowledge, I apologize. But if it is, I guess I'm slow because I didn't know it!! laugh.gif hehe)

getting a soft pad is very pad idea you should get a metal pad instead. But if you must get one then i suggest you get a ignition 2.0, it's the best soft pad out there E1.gif

2 BNS dx ignition pads for $90

Shipping might bring them up a little bit more... but I think it's the best deal for your $.

You can go to the website, add the item into your cart, and it will automatically calculate shipping and handling for you.

Ignitions are the best soft pads. But then again, they are still soft pads. If you really want a quality pad, go with a metal pad like an RO, or even better if you can afford it, a CF.

hi. i'm fairly new to the DDR. i had 2 konami dance pads and had very little luck with them. your dance pad reviews are very helpful. i've decided to by the BNS Ultra DX-Xteme Dance Pad or the Red Octane Ignition Pads -- i saw that people have advised that most online deals are rather shady

i'm wondering if any of you have any sellers you recommend on Ebay.
i've seen a lot being sold specifically by "super_deal4u" and "discount-auction," but the deals seem too good to be true.

thanks for your advice.

two things with ebay:
1) anything made with hard acrylic will break under a good DDR'ers shoes.
2) Usually the wires start to just stop working after periods of times, as the reason for there being a lot of different users selling the EXACT pad with EXACT info EXACTLY.

I Just pre-ordered a wireless dance pad from ebgames by Naki for $30, and its going to be shipped out 2/28/04 . Is this a good buy? Will it interfere with the connection of my other wired pads? Also if I got 2 (I didn't) would they interfere with one another?

OMG.... just finished reading EVERY POST in this 45-page monstrosity of the thread. Got the pleasure of reading the exact same questions over and over again. I'm thinkin of making an FAQ for soft pads...

Anyways, my BNS DXs are coming Friday, I can't wait! Now after what I've read, I'll still reccommend them without a doubt.

I don't think you should recommend them until you have used them for a couple months at least. Definitely not before they arrive! I have a pair on order myself, should be here on Monday or Tuesday for me.

Also buynshop says the BNS Ultra DX-Xtreme pads are about 10 lbs. but Fedex total weight for both pads including the packaging is only 16 lbs. Anyone know what 2 RO pads shipping weight is?
I am sure FedEx is accurate, but I will weigh it when I get it if there are any doubters.

Well, If you read every help thread posted there all the same, I think DDR Freak should just make a whole forum dedicated to already answered questions.

Sorry guys, I'm sure this has been asked at least somewhere, but does anyone have any idea about how long Red Octane's Ignition 2.0 pad lasts (with the cover)? Just wonderin'. E4.gif

Myself, I can't wait for my pads... Estimated they're going to be showing at my door on the 9th... It's been one heck of a wait so far... (for the BNS pads)
