I don't know if anybody's done this or not yet, but it couldn't hurt.
KOREAN MIXES:
1st Dance Floor (introduced Normal, Hard, Remix, Double, Battle)
2nd Dance Floor
Oldies But Goodies (introduced Crazy)
Season Evolution
Perfect Collection
EXTRA (replaced Crazy with eXtra eXpert, an arguably harder mode)
Rebirth (went back to Crazy, added Half Double and Division)
INTERNATIONAL MIXES:
Premiere (Perfect Collection minus Remixes plus a few international songs)
PREX (Premiere 1 plus most of the songs from EXTRA)
Premiere 2 (Rebirth plus a few older songs)
PREX 2 (Extra plus Rebirth minus some game modes)
Premiere 3
PREX 3
PC:
Fusion (1st + 2nd Dance Floor)
Oldies But Goodies (straight arcade port)
Season Evolution (straight arcade port)
Perfect Collection (straight arcade port)
Evolutionary Dance Floor (crap pack-in USA version)
Banya Collection (better but not great USA version)
PREX 3 (straight arcade port)
FYI, International Mixes usually have MUCH greater Perfect Windows than the original Korean mixes, at least in my experience. I got all-Perfects on First Love Crazy on a Premiere 2 machine once, and I had NEVER done that on the machine I usually play on.
I've got an EXTRA machine at my arcade. "Extra Expert" mode is basically the more difficult half of Crazy mode. (To give you an idea, Beethoven Virus Crazy is a Level 1 XX, and that's a fairly accurate rating.) Each XX song can also be played in Single or Double. Slam XX Double is absolutely nuts. I've passed it once out of about 30 attempts.
"Nightmare Mode" is PREX 3's replacement for XX Double. I'm pretty sure "Let's Get the Party Started" has ousted Slam for the title of hardest song. Damn shame too, as the steps don't even go with the music at all. |

Hmm...well, do any of you know any other online store to purchase Prex 3, aside from yesasia.com? I would like to get it for a little cheaper than $90. I have only run into yesasia with methods like google and such, but just in case, I'm hoping one of you guys know another place that sells Pump games, that's a little cheaper than yesasia. Thanks in advance. _________________

We have PREX 3 here, I don't know how hard Slam is on Crazy because I've never played it... but I would think that Lagenski's Can Can and Holiday(which may or may not be on Pre 3... was in some earlier games) would be tougher than Slam on Crazy... simply because they are newer and they'd have to create something harder to please the hardcore players... Try Winter on Crazy.... or Empire of the Sun... lol |
Slam isnt the HARDEST PIU song, but its waaay harder than Can Can...I can B that...cant pass Slam worth crap. Holiday on the other hand is just insane. anyone been stupid like me and play it on double?
Dark Samurai, start with like First Love, Run To You, and stuff like that on hard mode to get the hang of it. |
Yeah I tried Holiday on doubles.... I triped and fell it was very humiliating.... after that I didn't play doubles for a month... and then I never selected Holiday again... but I shall try it this weekend again! lol |

Does anyone by any chance know the operating system a pump machine runs on? I have an idea on what the actual hardware is(it's just like a computer), you can see the bios while it boots, but I don't recall ever seeing an OS come up if there are any.
I think a pump arcade disc can run off your home pc, given you can emulate the same boot up process somehow... hmmm. I'm leaning toward DOS... getting a dll error which isnt all that specific... _________________

I've had a copule shots at a PREX 3 lately and I can only say this:
Nightmare mode is Nuckin' Futs!.
Seriously, it makes anything ddr has to offer look easy. Geez, it makes everything else in PIU look easy.
Sixty consecutive double/triple shots anyone?
On the happy side, I played some Another Truth double yesterday, check this: 5 greats, 1 miss, rest perfects. _________________

Yeah, right.
Nothing is going to top Winter on Nightmare.... nothing. |
Anything that forces you to do the splits at the end reigns supreme.... especially with all the triples and quads in Holiday.... Holiday is much worst. XXDoubles is the mode Holiday is on, Mix : Extra and PREX1. (PREX1 regular doubles with a too low level) it moves at a steady 190BPM... |

Ya know, I didn't even think about XXDoubles... So I think he was right there.
And why do people start posting in here now? This thread is so fucking dead... _________________

They revived this thread because it makes little sense to make another Pump it Up thread instead of using the one thats already here, and there is already a nice discussion going on in here. |

Winter is overrated. LGTPS Nightmare is far and above the worst song ever (music-wise, challenge-wise, the whole deal).
Holiday XX Double isn't so bad to pass (if your machine has stage break deactivated); just skip the triples. If you hit almost all the other steps you should get a D.... It's the last one that's killer though: 2-second hold step on completely opposite corners of the pad.
Plus, Extra also has the Rush code, which speeds up every song to about 1.3 or 1.4 of its original. Try playing Final Audition Episode 1 at about 250 BPM or so... |

No it just hurts your ears... stay far far away from it... and I think it's on Premiere 3 not PREX2.... but PREX2 is a better mix anyway or so I've heard... lol

Holiday is a pain to pass, we have stage break on and missing too many tiples = the gunshot sound of doom! Anyhow rush sounds extra nice.... too bad there is no Extra machine here... speaking of that how much faster does the rush code make Holiday? |
