The arcade I work at just got PPP 2nd mix in and me and another guy took the sensors off and switched them to the back to see if tournament mode/character true, and mirror mode worked. (not sure what it's called) The lights on the pad worked when you hit the sensor but the top lights don't work. The sensor doesn't respond on the screen either. We set everything right in the < > menu but we can't figure out why it doesn't work. Anyone have any info on this?

DVD demo mode. The other guy I was working with thinks it is something like you put in the DVD and it replaces the characters with real people. Can anyone tell me if this is what it is? Also where can we get the dvd drive and the dvd for it or the cd image?

One last thing.

Where we can get the memory cards that go into this?

As an arcade worker myself, I have worked on this machine quite a bit actually. I'm not 100% sure why you want to move the sensors, but I'm guessing that it doesn't work because it's not programmed to read sensors in the rear. The Korean version of the game had sensors all the way around the top ring for such use, but to my knowledge that is not a feature that is in Japanese editions.

As for DVD demo mode, this refers to an additional cabinet monitor. By connecting the DVD monitor to the machine, the monitor will display the Para Para All-Stars performing in sync with the machine. These are the same videos as seen on the PS2 version, but in MUCH higher resolution as they weren't compressed as much. It does NOT replace the CG girl that is displayed on the game. On a side note, there are some songs that do not have a video such as Kiss Kiss Kiss, Ultra High Heels, etc.. (primarily new Konami Originals anyway), so the monitor will just display the title of the song and "(No Movie)". So where do you get this monitor? We had to import ours from Japan, and believe me at this point, it is pretty difficult to track down. I'd recommend trying Manjiro Works though if you are serious about this item. Here is a picture of not only the monitor but also our PPP setup (Arcade is Family Fun Center in Omaha, Ne) http://www.familyfuncenter.net/pppwmonitor.jpg

Finally, the memory cards I do not know their purpose nor how to enable them, but if I had a guess...I would say that they are possibly used to save scores when power is shut down at the end of the night. PPP doesn't have a Hard Drive that saves this information so all data is reset when it is shut off or even simply going into Test mode. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!

Yeah, only the Korean version of the game can use sensors in th back so you can face the audience.

There's really no point in memory cards for PPP.

If you face the other way that would put the sensors behind you. The sensors do not work if you move them to the back.

DualEdge: When did FFC get that video unit?!?

Otherwise, there's no arcade linking anyway, plus like Asparagus said, there's no point either. There's no PS2 feature for memory cards, so it's useless, as well as the arcade hardware doesn't support memory card feature (unlike DDR, DM1, GF1, and GF2).

Couple of days before Thanksgiving. I must say it has somewhat revived some interest in the game because it's a lot easier to pick apart tiny nuances that are often seen when looking at just the CG Para girl. Easy Busy even has the "run in place" motion on the new monitor, classic indeed.
