Not even my Magic 3.1 mod can get around the 5th mix anti-mod lockout.

Patch it or enter codes, those are your only options when it comes to 4th, Extra, and 5th (3rd too?).

Do you have a swapdisk? You need one to play the games.

TO EVERYONE WHO HAS FLIPTOP:GO AND BUY A BREAKER PRO FROM ps2cover.com
I just confirmed that it works with ALL ps1 ddr mixes(unsure about european). even 5th mix works! E7.gif

Quick question; where can i buy it without the slidecard, and does it work with ps2 imports too, or do i need the swap magic disks also to play those?
What do i need to play the jap ps2 and ps1 games on my ps2 with the flip top cover?

So do you think i should not get the flip top cover and breaker or swap magic discs? what ps1 and ps2 ddr jap imports will it work with then? How do i patch it or enter codes and what do i need to do so? I want the cover to be able to work with all ddr jap mixes. Help i want to play the jap versions!

The Flip Top cover works perfectly (as long as it's installed correctly). The Breaker discs would be smart to get because you shouldn't have any JP-CD issues.

All of the imports will work with a mod, you'll just have to patch it (you'll have to ask someone else how to do that), or get a gameshark and use the codes.

Note:
You only need a gameshark for the PS1 DDR games, 3rd-5th. All PS2 DDR games should work perfectly on just a basic modded system.

How much is a gameshark, and where can i get one. Also, if i want to patch instead, how can i do so? Which is easier-gameshark and codes, or patching. is there any simple mod that can play ps1 and ps2 jap games by only swapping discs?

the breaker disc at ps2cover.com comes with a slide card. Will it work with the flip top b/c i dont want to use the slide card. also, will i need to buy a swap magic disc to play jap ps2 improts, or does the breaker disc do ps1 and ps2 imports?

i'm not sure about what the breaker is, but i'm pretty sure that if you can use a slidecard on it, then the flip-top should as well (i can't see a reason anyways), just as long as you are not hitting the eject button and causing the PS2 to re-read discs, it should be alright

jason: 3rd mix (jp) does'nt use the anti-mod program.

EDIT: also, on the gameshark being used to play PS1 imports on the PS2 and what-not, what version do i need, i hear either GS lite, the PS GS disk that comes (or came, i don't own a gameshark2) w/ the GS2, or does it even matter??? a the name of a specfic one would definetly be appreacited, i'm tired of having that extra PS1 around.........heh

So any suggestions on what to get to be able to play jap ps1 and ps2 jap imports without soldering, preferably with the flip top. Also how can you tell whether you have a NTSC or PAL Ps2 version?

Will the Jap version of DDR extreme work with the flip top cover and the swap magic discs? If not what is needed.

From what I understand, here is what you need for the fliptop to work properly. Please correct me if im wrong. Plus add any other usefull info since I should be recieving my flip top soon.

To play PS1 imports: Must have a breaker pro, Gameshark, Gameshark Lite, etc. You do not need the swap magic discs.

To play PS2 imports: Must use the swap magic discs. There are two discs. The CD disc is to be used for CD based PS2 imports. The dvd disc is to be used for DVD based PS2 imports. *

*NOTE: If you have the newest model PS2, they say that the swap magic CD disc will not work. So unless there is another way around this, (which no one seems to have found) you cannot play games like Max JPN or Party Collection.

THE BIG FLIPTOP LIST:
PS2:
(jp)
DDRMAX-Boots with Swap Magic CD Ver.
DDRMAX2-Boots with Swap Magic DVD Ver.
DDREXTREME-Boots with Swap Magic DVD Ver.
DDR Party Collection-Boots with Swap Magic CD Ver.
(usa)
DDRMAX-Swap Magic DVD?
DDRMAX2-Swap Magic DVD?
(eur)
Dancng Stage Megamix-Swap Magic CD
Dancng Stage Fever-Swap Magic CD?

PS1:
(all games)Breaker Pro
Oh and by the way, if your 5th mix goes past the Load memory card screen, goes past the first caution screen, and stays at a black screen with the disc going whurrrrr.. and then stopping briefly, then doing the same thing over and over again, is it a bad burn or is that the anti mod stuff? My copy does that often.

If you had read the first page every thing you listed is there except for the european games.

You can use a flip top with the magic swap discs just fine, with the exception of playing cd based PS2 imports (like Max JPN and Party Collection)....

That solution is much cheaper and hopefully they do make a swap magic boot cd that will work on the newest versions.

I am pretty sure its a bad burn but I would also like it if someone could confirm this as I am not positive
