|
|
I was curious about what type of fingering technique that people use when they play SM.
As for me up until now I've been using the good old 2 finger pecking technique. Recnetly, I've found that it has become useless in face of songs like Moonlight,Reality, blur, and a few other songs.
So, I've developed a multiple finger technique that once perfected should give me a greater range reach, and will reduce fitigue on my fingers during fast songs. It feels more like I'm typing on a keyboard now.
I've always wondered how songs like blur were even possible with only two fingers I just may have found the key pushing my skill to a new level.
Comments,Questions,Concerns....
Let's hear'em!!!

when i play blur i use 2 fingers...
but yea, i usually play with 2 hands and 3 fingers. Don't ask how exactally, i just do...i've been doing it for along time now so its just natural.
On easier songs i usuaully use 1 hand...
some songs i'll use just my index fingers...so yea, it really depends/ i switch up my style alot.
as for the title...well...lol. _________________

But now reach is here and no one cares about me. =P _________________

Well, IMHO I'd think that reality would need to be a prerequisite for blur. Anybody that can pass blur should have no problem with reality. _________________

Um no.
the end of that song has like 3x more arrows than drum beats.
they're also going at a speed of about 3200 arrows per minute, singles. Which is 53.3 taps each second. I can do like....barely half that? Its 110% totally IMPOSSIBLE.
And my friend, blur is only 960 APM _________________

OMFG!!!!
I could never have known what a demon that song is. Blur, is nothing compared to reality. I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the ground.
If anyone could pass that song they couldn't be human. No fingering technique could ever work on a song like that. That song is best left up to monsters or androids or something other than a human at least. _________________

Well my friend please give me the equation that calculates APR and button taps. I'd like a better way of measuring(sp?) speed than just using BPM. I meant to post this yesterday but forgot. Thanks!!!
edit: By the way reach, could you post a video of you doing blur. I still think that song is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE!!! Those jumps in that song are so fast that they look like they are blending together.
I wouldn't believe that anyone could pass this song until I see it with my own eyes. _________________

I can't run a webcam and run stepmania. my pc is only 750 mgh dude, even if i double setup it ill probably still fail with that much lag.
spazzbite can do it though...bunch of people saw.
and getting apm is easy.
BPMxarrow speed.
To get the arrow speed? just use note skin or check the editor. 8ths are blue...16ths are yellow...24ths are purple and 32nds are orange. 8ths=2 taps per beat, 16=4, 24=6 and 32 is 8.
so, take payon for example. the gargle run is all 32nd notes (orange)
BPM(90)x8(32nds)= 720. that gives you a pretty average speed. it can be hard to calculate on songs that change around alot...or have gaps between notes and stuff..but yea, it gives you a good idea.
blur(480)x2(8ths)= 960. _________________

I used to just play two handed...something like 4 or 5 fingers but they kept running into each other. I now play with two sets of arrows.
WAS&D and The arrow keys. I've had people actually tell me this is cheating but honestly...I'm not trying to impress anyone but myself here. _________________

I have a friend who plays like that. Mind you she isn't very good, but that fact of the matter is that she plays with with two keys for each hand.
You'll never hear a complaint coming from because I would think that it would make it easier on your hands for really, really hard songs.
Plus, I think it's an amazing way to play quite honestly. _________________
