The first three are crappy ignitions because they use a soft insert. The best out of those would be to mod the last one, but I recommend just buying the BNS ignition for 48.95. |

Grrr!! I purchased the BNS Extreme pad back in early December and thought it was great, but just yesterday my PS2 was not reading the pad anymore! I have had no luck with pads...this is my second one in two months. I store it properly, just something always happens to have them break (especially right after the warranty expires).
Makes me wonder if I even take the chance of buying a more expensive pad...I am NOT happy with BNS... |

I finally got to order my RO Ignition 2.0 pad, and my mom got me a pad cover to go with it. When it arrives, are there any other mods that I'll need to do to make the pad last longer? |

Use electrical tape and cover the bottom of the arrows, then use clear masking tape to cover the rest of the bottom upper half of the pad... |

1st off I do think the konami pads are actually very good pads as far as soft pads go. What I did was took a sheet of 1 inch plywood (for stability and durability) and cut it into 2 pieces @ 33x39. I used 4 pieces of 8x10 acrylic squares for each pad and used packing tape and secured the acrylic directly to the arrows on the pad. Then I used double sided carpet tape and applied it to the wood. Carefully center the pad over the wood and smooth it out so it's flat and there's no air bubbles. I then used textured floor covering and covered the entire pad and stapled it to the edges of the wood, cut the excess off and went around the outside with black duct tape so it didn't look ghetto. The final result was a VERY stable and accurate pad that didnt move at all. You can also feel the arrows through the floor covering because of the acrylic, the floor covering will also make the pads withstand some serious abuse. I used eye hooks and latches to keep the pads together on the top and bottom edges, so they can be disassembled for storage etc if need be. All the supplies were found at Lowe's and ran me about $58. That was the cost in doing BOTH pads. This pad feels and reacts WAY better than the igitions out of the box, but I have never modded those, anyhoo the result is below.

you can see the acrylic under the floor covering, and the slip proof texture lets ya play in shoes, socks, or barefoot, and it's very comfortable. |

Having read through all 43 pages of this thread (ugh, head hurting), I've got a few questions...
Those PSX/2-X-Box/GC adapters on the red octane website ( http://www.redoctane.com/universaladapter.html ), a few questions on them...
1) Does Electronics Boutique in Canada carry them? (anyone know if they do?)
2) Or if worst comes to worst, is there a place that carries those adapters AND the BNS DX pads? _________________

What I do is have:
2 pad covers
1 ignition type pad (ex: red octane, bns, level6)
1 roll of electrical tape
1 roll of clear masking or duct tape
First insert foam into pad then put one of the pad covers on top of the foam.
Next cover the bottom of the arrows and the area around the control box with the electrical tape. After that cover the rest of the bottom of the top half of the pad with the clear tape.
To those who want to know, this is done to prevent rips and tearing.
Then just zip it all up and put the other cover on top of the pad.... Congrats, your done---what you will have is a pad that will last a long while since it wont tear as easily---
Oh, never use shoes on a soft pad even though it has a cover... |

k so i got my pads made
i 've only plated in the arcades so ive got little refernce and never used the naked mad catz before i modded them with clothes
aynways
theyre responsive enough that tapping my socks works to get it registered
i got so into dancing it was just amazing my soul was bared
hehe
aynways i am having problems with the superjoy 2 player ps to usb adapter with ddr
first of all, it is kinda hard to register the non diagonal combos like up/down and left/right
im wondering if the adapter is in analog mode (the windows control panel gives it an analog style crosshair in a box) and thus up/down and left/right are impossible almost to pick up i have pulled these moves off though so maybe it's no big deal.
the other problem is that i cannot use both pads simultaniously in any mode 2 player or not.
what happens is only one pad works (the one plugged into port 1) and yet it calls it p2.
i can then switch the pad to the p2 slot and it continues to work as p2 but p1 still does not work.
My question secondarily is has anyone had this type of trouble with ps to pc adapters before? I checked the pads out individually and as far as 'game controllers' in control panel of xp pro is concerned they're good to go.
i have not tested any other games , just ddr pc.
If there are any differnt adapters i need to buy to make this work i'd do that. hehe _________________
