|
|
This a lot like beatmania, except no scratch. You get to take on other people online. The game is in beta and is currently FREE to play. To sign up and download, just visit:
http://www.e-games.com.my/o2jam.asp
IMPORTANT:
When logging into the e-games website, an Activex security dialog box will pop up asking if you want to install the e-games applet. You must click YES. This will let you launch the game from the website.
Once you finish that, you can log in to the e-games website and click the PLAY button.
Note: You cannot launch the game directly from the .exe file. The only way to play the game is to click the PLAY button on the website.
------------------------------------
If you want to use an IIDX controller:
Make sure you have a PS2 to USB adapter. Then download the JoyToKey program from:
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA016823/joytokey/english.html
It will take some configuring, but you'll be up and running with an IIDX controller on O2Jam.
-------------------------------------
Extra Info:
To download new songs efficiently, queue up a song for download in the Music Shop menu. Then double click that song so that it pops up a download window. Click on DOWN NOW and the song will download in the background. Go play a few games and come back later to check if it's done and download a new song.
Also, here's some screenshots I took from Korean O2Jam! These screenshots should give you an idea of what the game will look like a few months down the road.
World Map
This time the game takes place on one world. Each city contains many different channels. Each channel can hold up to 100 people. The yellow dots show how full each channel is. 5 yellow dots mean there's about 90-100 people in the room.
The Lobby
Random 5-9 just means that it picks a random song of difficulty from 5 thru 9. Nice huh?
Song Selection
Every song has its own unique picture. Also there's more speed selections.
Emotes
You can press a certain combination of keys and the corresponding image will appear next to your head. Makes it easier to break that language barrier in case you don't know how to say GO in their tongue.
-------------------------------------
I'll see you in the game! My user name is US0101105008
Here's a screenshot for those of you interested:

Instructions on how to get the game to work if you get "billing error":
Just send an email to [email protected] asking for a CD KEY and PASSWORD. Make sure to state your Account Name and ID in the email. They should reply within a few hours. It took me less than an hour for them to reply.
Once that is done, visit https://bill.e-games.com.my/
and click on Reload e-Games Points
Then enter your CD KEY and PASSWORD there.

When you try to start the game, you'll get a "Billing error" and the program will exit.
jiwq, how much does it cost? I'm going to send them an email, but I'd like to know how much I'm going to get billed for. |

I agree, this game kicks ass. It's not too hard (yet?), but it's pretty cool. I need a new keyboard, this one can't take some of the 3+ button presses. I'm trying to download new songs right now (mainly Classicals; B
And my character is still naked. |

I don't know my ID off the top of my head, but the DDRFreak room you saw was mine. I thought you'd be on, but I didn't count on you stumbling across me, so I just made a single room.
We should try to get some DDRFreak VS or Session (or whatever they call it) gatherings going sometime. |

Ok, just try to remember the last 4 digits of your ID. My ID ends with 5008. I'm lvl 16 and will be on from time to time. If you have a IIDX controller and usb adapter, use the JoytoKey program to play it.
Also, you can download songs in the background. You dont have to stare at the download bar all day. Just press the DOWN NOW button as soon as you download a song and then just play a few games. It should be done in a couple minutes if you're on a decent connection. Then come back and download more songs. |

Man, I stumble across this thread, and feel so happy that I discovered this game as a result. I download it, get an ID registered, as well as a CDKey and password, and then, I try to play the game, and I get the error "Cannot execute." That's it. I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, to no avail. Any idea why I can't get the game to run at all? |

that happened to me too. You don't run it from program files, you actually have to launch from the website. go to the website and login and click the red button that says play. |

I dont think you can see User Names in the game. You can only identify yourself by that long number assigned to you. Mine is US0101105008 |

I think I ran into you, I'm 6008.
Anyways, yes, this is fun. I love it. I love it, I have semi-good accuracy, thanks to IIDX, but I have a habit of missing in large quantities. In one game, this one guy, who was consistently doing very well, and I had the same amount of Greats or Goods or whatever the second-highest mark is in this game. However, he had 10 more Cool's, or whatever the highest mark is called. Yeah, I had 10 misses. So, generally speaking, I either hit it on time, or I don't hit it at all. |

Oh my god, this game is amazing.
And for those of you who say it's easy, you do know there are more difficulties, right? I put it on expert (or whatever the hardest is) and it was insane.
My ID is U50604106007. |

This game is so sweet. I love Brahm(02 version). I can't wait to buy a drumset (although I have a feeling it won't do anything -_-). |
