Hey,
I was wondering if Swap Magic 2.0 is compatible with DDREX JPN?
Do I use CD or DVD version? _________________

Anyway, I have a problem. When I put it together it doesn't read the disc. I did everything correctly following the instructions on ps2cover.com.
The reset and power button work though. After that, I put it back together with the normal cover and it works fine.
Somebody please help |
Do you have a swapdisk? You need one to play the games.
TO EVERYONE WHO HAS FLIPTOP:GO AND BUY A BREAKER PRO FROM ps2cover.com
I just confirmed that it works with ALL ps1 ddr mixes(unsure about european). even 5th mix works! _________________

Just wondering if anyone else has had any problems playing DDR Party Collection with a Neo2.2 chip. I haven't had any probs with other versions (except for a few early PS1 games that had anti-modchip code) but I can't seem to play Party Collection. It just loads to a black screen.
Let me know,

DX Manaic : thanks! I'd been wondering about the breaker pro. I'd just about decided to screw it and pay more to get a japanese PSone, but I'll try the breaker pro first. Does one need to use antimod codes with the BP for any of the games? (Just curious -- I don't mind entering codes, and that won't affect which one I buy first.) |

I know it has to do with switching it during certain spin speeds. Any takers on how this trick works?
PS.... I will be getting a boot disc, I am lazy and want to play today and not wait. |
hehe read this guide i found on gamefaqs: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/sony_swap_trick.txt
If you have a small PSOne heres what i did.
1.downloaded something thats like a action replay at megagames.com:http://megagames.com/psx/psx_utils_ar.shtml (download the last one)
2.burned the image (the .cue file not the .bin)
3.did that swap trick with the burned cd (the last one found in the gamefaqs guide)
4. put the antimod codes (save them into your memory card so you don't have a hassle to put them over and over again)
5. played my 5th mix
PS... you need something thats like a small folded piece of paper or a corner of a cereal box for the lid censor (lid censor is under that tab that holds the cover of the PSOne) |

i got ddr 5th mix for psx from babbagees but it is an import and i hav a us playstation system so the game doesnt work
when i put it in it doesnt play it probably bcuz i dont hav a modchip
well... i decided i was goin to get a modchip and started lookin around and found one as low as 20$. They charged 50$ to install it so ferget dat.
Since I hav the actual game, i can back it up and itz not illegal right?
i dwnloaded a zip file off overnet and then unzipped it
i got with it: [PS] DDR 5th mix img file
[PS] DDR 5th mix ccd file
[PS] DDR 5th mix sub file
i used ppf-o-matic to apply the patch from www.megagames.com/psx and now wut do i do with it, plz giv detailed instructions w/linkz if possible |

Seems like a few people are having problems with www.ps2cover.com taking a long time to ship. Might I suggest www.ps2fliptop.com ? I ordered my flip top from there a while ago and received it the next day. |

You are correct. A PS2 CD swap disk is required. _________________

Additionally, you are correct as pop'n music 8 is a DVD-5.
pop'n music 7 is also a DVD-5. pop'n music Best Hits is a CD. pop'n music 9 is a DVD-5 (and will be released next month - media confirmed here).
All previous pop'n mixes were PSX (or Dreamcast in a more limited form). _________________

I have a magic 3.1 and it has worked fine for about 3/4 of a year but I got SOCOM II for X-mas so I had to put the chip in sleep mode to avoid DNAS but now the chip will not come out of sleep mode. I will try cleaning my laser b/c it is making that grinding sound when a burned game is put in. |

I know I have everything. I finally got it to work w/out the help of the fliptop. I just take the white magnet and put it on the thing that spins the disc with the disc in. I just cant close the fliptop because it wont work then. could the fliptop be missalligned? |

Hmmm. By not working, does it make funny noises when neading the disc? And by not closing do you mean it's like able to close but not able to read the disc?
Check for these:
Make sur the disc is under the ridges on the left side of the disc tray. You should be able to spin it with your fingers a bit.
Put something heavy on top of the disc tray cover. This will keep it down, on mine if i dont put one on there is a funny noise coming from the tray.I think it has something to do with screwing it in. _________________

on the flip-top, if you tray is making funny nosies, then try to tighten the screws just a bit more, i tightend mine REALLY tight and don't have any problems w/ mine, i also heard (in this thread i think) that if they are tight ENOUGH, then the disc can spin out of place...... _________________

When putting in the CD through the flip-top, sometimes it doesn't always get all the way in and seated, so it rubs along a part of the case.
When you drop the CD in, ensure that you push it into place, and it's fully seated. If you push the CD (manually spin it) and it's unrestricted, then it should work normally. Always test the spin, it's the most important part. _________________

I just got a new Ps2, v10, my old one broke. Since Im lazy and really dont feel like searching this whole post for days, whats a good modchip or anything so I can play import DDR games? DVD-5 or DVD-9 would be cool, and of course normal CD ps1 games and maybe even backup games/dvds that were burned. I checked out the DMS3 modchip but I heard the installation is really complicated. I dont think a fliptop is compatable with v10 ps2s.Im really confused. Any suggestions? _________________

I was thinking about modding my ps2, but for this first time i want to start out with a simple mod so i can play jap ddr versions. I was thinking of the flip top cover. I don't mind swapping, but dont want to enter any codes. Does the flip top cover work with Jap ps1 ddr mixes as well as Jap ps2 ddr mixes? What do i need, and any other easy mod suggestions? _________________
