It's very strange. I was coming down with a cold right. I had all the usual symptoms of an approaching sickness. Sinus congestion, a slight couch.

The symptoms started while I was on my way to my local mall to play dome DDR. I played 7 games, 3 Being "Random All", 1 FS Practice set, 1 Oni attempt (BeForU) and 2 Doubles 3 song Sets.

On my way out of the mall, I realized that I didn't feel any of my cold symptoms anymore. I don't feel them right now either. I think the workout that DDR Provides prevented me from getting too sick.

This ever happen to you?

I guess it is due to sweating. As far as flu goes, I've been told that when you sweat, you actually take out some of the virus, as with any liquid secretion from your body. A month ago, it seemed like I was about to get a cold, and I went and played DDR for 5 hours non-stop. I sweated like mad, and felt like the symptoms almost completely wore off.

I could be wrong, but it worked for me too...

I always get sinus headaches and migrains and nose runnings and stuff. I play DDR and it goes away. Also I've noticed that I haven't been sick... real sick, in awhile (exsept for the flu) so DDR helps my health I guess lol.

The only thing I've ever noticed about DDR when I play sick is
its makes it ALOT worse. Im weezing and coughing for water after playing easy songs like Sakura.

The only adverse effect's it gives me are some smelly armpits and a new sense of energy. For some reason the more I play the more energy I get to do other things, it's all those pies I swear.

Playing with a cold kinda helps me, but I still feel it and do bad when I play. Its kinda like a half-day help.

Just had to say that I've never had a slight couch. Where do you live? I need furniture. I need to have your sickness!
</being postwhore>

I played when my throat was sore and it sorta helped take my mind off it and helped my breathing.

Hey thats a good thing though, I remember having a cold and doing ddr for a loooong time till I was sweating. What i've heard is, you can basically sweat out your sickness, which is a good thing. But I have the tendency to get bad allergies, and if I'm doing ddr in an area where dust could be. I'd be having trouble breathing after dancing, due to dust irritation. Something I can't help, so I always have to have a fan going when I'm at home with a filter on it so I can keep going. *nods* pretty much sucks having allergies, but it's never killed me yet, and I will keep striving.

Have you ever heard of sweating out a cold. That would be a extreme of the phrase. Just don't do it with a sore throat, it will rip you apart during play.

First hand experience here.

Anyway, i don't get sick too often, but when i do, i'm usually too sick to play DDR, so i would never know. I'm one of those people who never get sick, but when i do, i get it really bad.

Let me see...

I was sick today, but I decided to give DDR a shot. Played for about 2 hours. Started on standard and worked my way up to heavy. Cleared MaxX with an A.

I'm still coughing and wheazing. disturb.gif

DDR hasn't healed me one bit. I'll call Jesus now.

I've had a big sniffle for the past 2 weeks

Hopefully my Pads/mix/psone will come soon, so I can finish this b*tch off E4.gif

Physical exercise can strengthen your immune system, and yes it is very possible to sweat out a cold, in fact it's quite normal.

In the past 10 months or so that I have played DDR I have felt a cold coming on a few times, and strenuous exercise has always helped me fight it off. Furthermore DDR has helped me lower my resting heart rate to below 50, so it's definitely good cardiovascular exercise.

my 2 cents

I had an ear infection for a few weeks that would block up my left ear. It would usually clear up whenever I played DDR, but as soon as I tipped my head in the wrong direction it returned to its muffled state.

uhh, DDR has no healing powers. Often times, physical endurance to your body forces your body to warm up and move cells faster. In effect, they'll defend your sickness with more ease since they are active, since activity may be what they need.

Keep in mind that this isn't always the case. Sometimes you need to rest the body so it can heal effectively. When this is the case, one will find themselves jump back to an even worse cold after playing DDR. However, if otherwise, the above paragraph is why you start feeling well.
