I was thinking. mabye there should be a completely different login part for the people who just want to make machine locations. If that happened, you could delete al the users who don't post. just a thought... _________________

people wouldnt understand it and would complaine
and youd get people who made one machine location then never did again
and people who would make a name MEANING to make a location and never did
and people who wouldmake an mae so lock in their forum name
their isnt a problem so a soultion isnt needed _________________

That would be a lot of effort for us to do (and even if it isn't, it's still SOME effort).
Then we'd have to have two databases, which would take up more space and would require the server to query two different locations.
Then people would have to register twice.
What exactly bothers you about the number of users? I don't see much of a point in deleting the users (especially for the machine locations reason) and it seems like it would be more effort to do your suggestion then just leave it be. _________________

I don't see the point either, except for the fact that the forums have sounded like they've been slowing down..
You could have an auto-delete, where people's accounts are deleted after a set amount of time.. 6 months to 2 years, whatever is needed.. _________________

Forum slowdown is not due to the number of inactive accounts. _________________

Anyway, the forum slowdown has been fixed--the database is now running on our new server. _________________
