28, adult who plays DDR. Might not be quite as agile as the younger generation, but can at least hold my own on a fair number of songs.
Most of the people I see playing around here are between something like 12-20. _________________

Hey, i'm only 11 (12 in january) and i don't think it matters how old you are. it's a great workout. who says playing video games wasn't good for you? XD DDR is my obsession. i can pass most 8 footers. (yeah, i suck, don't rub it in, but for my age i'm pretty good even though i don't know many people my age that play, i'm better then alot of them.) _________________

I'm "only" 24... although my recent lack of stamina makes me feel much older. Sigh. _________________

What Up Everyone!
Well, I'm 22 years old. It seems that im like the oldest player in the Bay Area currently playing. Well, the oldest player I met so far is a 28 year old guy. That makes me feel good The average player "good" in the Bay is about 15-20. Geeze!
Merry Christmas!

I'm 31 and I've been playing since late August. But I haven't played regularly for the last month or so, which is why I'm still in the 5-6 foot zone . I'll get back to it this week and see if I can make some progress. Now where did I put my damn prune juice? _________________

I'm now 35 years old going on to 36! And yes, I still have people tell me that I'm WAY TOO OLD to play arcade video games, not to mention music video games. Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

I'm 18 (I'll be 19 in five months...) but my boyfriend is 24 and his roomate is 27. They both play and they're both actually really good. I'm actually surprised to see so many younger players here on the boards...out here in Colorado the majority of people who play are between 18-30 something. I only know of a few people who play out here and are under 18. I love seeing older people play though. When you look at DDR you think, wow, you have to really be in shape for this...usually you think of some young kid with tons of energy on there tearing it up...it's nice to see some older folks up there showing up the youth and proving that they too can still have fun! _________________

What's with you people who are just barely 30 blaming your lack of stamina on age? I'm 28, and sure I can't pass most of the 10 footers, but I don't blame my lack of stamina on age, just on being out of shape. My husband is 29 and he can pass everything at home an almost everything in the arcade.
I'm in the best shape of my life right now, so maybe I never got to experience the vigors of youth, personallly I agree with the person who said it doesn't matter what age you are, just how healthy you are. |

46 year old female here who just got DDR for X-Box in hopes of finding a FUN way to lose weight and get in shape! Boy was my hubby happy when I asked him if we could get an X-Box so I could get DDR! Of course now I have to fight him for the X-Box all the time since he always seems to be playing HALO!!!!!!
I found this site while searching for information on scoring and steps and moves and things like that. The book that comes with the game sure doesn't provide much information for a rookie like me who needs basic help with everything! I found some great information on this site and hope to spend more time checking out the forums for even more information.
I don't understand all the terminology you guys use on here but I'll learn eventually with your help!!!!!

I kind of agree with your statement, but, have the old people who play DDR ask themselves, am I too old for this? or, have I had enough? I mean, don't adults have better things to do then play an arcade game? I'm not bashing on "old" people for people for playing DDR, but, I just wondering if they truly like playing DDR.

Better things? Like what? I play DDR, play in a band, sometimes go rock climbing, I have a job, I'm in a writing group, I paint, I maintain my house, I enjoy time with my spouse (playing DDR for some of it.)
I spend more time playing computer games than anything else and so do most of my friends (many of them are addicted to DAoC.)
When I was growing up my family, mother, step-father and I would go to the arcade regularly. My step-father even bought a millipede arcade machine when the arcade closed.
DDR is exercise, DDR is rhythm practice, DDR is more productive than FFX-2, which I'm currently playing. I'm confused about what "better" things I should be doing.
Part of the good thing about being an adult is that since you are responsible for every aspect of your life, you also get to choose aspects of your life, including your entertainment. |

I'm 26 and have been playing since the summer of 2000. As far as age goes, doesn't matter to me what age you are as long as you're playing... Of course I'm the second oldest one I know of that plays. My friend is the oldest but only by a day.
Age really shouldn't matter either as shouldn't a lot of other things as well. But those are beside the point and off topic here. _________________
