ems usb adapter: constantly down+right for you?

hi all, got this adapter.

first had problem where adapter was constatly getting a down+right command from empty player 2 port. i switched gamepad to 2nd port, and got the down+right command from empty player 1 port.

couldn't figure out problem for while. but then i plugged in 2 controllers at same time and everything works fine. so i guess i always have to leave a second controller plugged in.

i'm wondering if it's like this for others?

i'm using winxp pro.
