I'm annoyed by little 11-12 year olds too. I get an A on Maxx Unlimited heavy, and these 2 kids come up and say they are better that me. They can't even do Daikenkai half the time. They think they are cool by putting x1.5 and dark on. They make such a big deal over passing Healing Vision amd Colors Heavy. When they do pass it, they get 6 misses, 200 greats,200 perfects (same case with Paranoia Rebirth). They go behind me when I'm stealthing and start flipping me off and calling me a doggy. One time they were touching my coins in the middle of an Oni course. I had to fail just to get them to stop. I just get through MAX 300 and they start tellin me "Oh you suck! I can AAA that." I know they are sarcastic, but it just gets to they point where I can barely take anymore.

I don't get to go to the arcade a lot, but from what I know, newcomers do tend to be arrogant. It's their metaphorical shell to protect their gooey, sticky, SUCKY, insides. I know I'm not good. I'd only played 6 songs before Christmas, when I DDRMAX2. Now I can beat mostly 4-5 foot songs when I try my best. For the most part, I do know that I have a knack for music games. Sometimes I get a little cocky, but that's only because I know very few formidable opponents. None of my friend are even near as good as me at DDRMAX2, Frequency, Amplitude, etc, but I do know that there are a whole lot of peepl outside of my friends that would smite me several times over. (This was proven when I got my PS2 modem and played Amplitude for the first tyme) To some all this up... I suck............. but not as much as my friends do. laugh.gif

I don't mean to post something that has nothing to do with the subject, but...

It'd be pointless to put up Reverse on when Stealth is activiated, ne?

I have no problem whatsoever with younger kids who want to play the game. I'll even laugh and smile when I see a smaller child hop up on the board next to me. I'm not an a-hole who's going to yell at them. That's just silly to do such a thing.
What is rude, however, is sitting to the side or behind someone who is playing and then saying things like "Wow, you didn't do so good on that song. You almost failed it!". Thanks Captain Obvious!
THE OTHER thing that gets me is those who try to mock you for doing freestyle. THAT is what REALLY gets under my skin. I know how to dance and I do it well whether it be on a pad or in an ACTUAL club, but I don't need to mocked for it. Both of these things have happened to me on more than one occasion. Luckily, I live in an area where the local community is, for the most part, pretty good to each other. There are instances of someone getting a little too riled up, but not too bad ya know?
Next time a kid hops up next to you don't get so agitated. They're a kid.. just deal with it.

That happened to me in the middle of the last song on Happy Hardcore. I failed on the gallop part of Sweet Sweet Magic because of that.

I never ask for words... I ask for examples. I tell them to get their butts on the pad and dance, and I'll see for myself.

Problem solved. E13.gif

The only thing I see in little kids and newbs tho (agreeing with everybody else) is that they like to throw a million mods on and act like its such an accompishment.

I have discovered in my two years of DDR that I don't hate the 13ish year olds, or the noobs. I just hate people in general. I enjoy seeing people get better at DDR, and I happily help when I can, and I enjoy watching anyone, especially when they're good. But, I think a lot of people here have the right to doggy about the ones who come up and start talking s--t about you while you're playing, take your spot in line, and act like they are the rooster of the walk when they not only don't have the skills to back it up, but don't have any skills at all. And this sort of crap is prevalent in ALL people in the arcades I normally play in.

My theory is that these rude people have discovered the joy of DDR, but don't have a mentor to help show them how to conduct themselves in an arcade setting. Anyone can figure out how to play, but sometimes one needs someone to "show them the ropes." So I say this: If you know one of these people (like I did), take them under your wing, and show them what's right and wrong. After that, if you feel compelled to heckle anybody, find these rude people and make their lives LIVING HELL!

Sorry for the long post, but I needed to rant.

Something I've noticed is that almost all young kids write aggregiously by habit. It becomes very difficult to decipher what your saying and I'm pretty much discouraged. The naive questions also irk me, but I'm old and everything irks me.

the best places (usually) 2 go are places that r big, dont have a huge crowd, (in scale 2 da size o da place) and the machene isnt near the entrance, or small arcades with a small crowd, usually
