I first started on Lesson Mode back in January of 2003. I quickly grasped the concept of the game and passed Max300 heavy within two months both at home and arcade; Maxx U. at 3 months arcade. I played training mode a lot, so that's probably what helped best. Now there's about 15 songs or so that I don't have under 19 greats. |

when i started i borrowed ddr from my friend for playstation....im guessing it was like somwhere between 1-3rd mix. it had afronova and la seniorita and i think el tropical on it....but i playedla seniorita nonstop for like a month cuz i loved that song, and never got better till i decided i was gonna beat every single song on it.....then i accidentally pressed down 2 times on songlist and the steps for harder. i was like what?!?!?!?! _________________

I was one of those people who saw DDR machines often but never really paid attention to those. I've heard all about it on a lots of MMORPGs, and wondered what the big deal was. Then I went to the arcade and saw people playing. "Psh... if you ever see me on one of those, I swear I'll walk around town naked!"...
Well, now that I'm addicted to that game... I guess I'll have to do it someday...
Anyway, I played a bit of StepMania before actually stepping on a DDR Pad, so when I first played, I wasn't too disoriented... I did a "D" on www.blondegirl standard (since I was too proud to try light... however, afronova brought me back to reality).
And now, a warning to all of you that don't play DDR: Be careful, this game's more addictive than drugs! But hey, it's a lot better for your health. _________________

I remember I failed nearly every song I tried....because I didn't know that you had to wait for the arrow to get to the top of the screen into the step zone before you stepped on them! I was stepping on them as soon as they came onto the bottom of the screen. Once I started watching other players, I started getting a little better.

LOL. I started on PIU. PIU doesn't let you pass even if you fail. I failed my first 3 sets (3/4ths of a song a set, since i failed)
Passed my first set on DDR with AA's. =P _________________

I didn't have a hard time learning to play...i didn't play any 1 or 2 footers either, my first songs were .59 and Higher and within 10 minutes i could C and sometimes B them both consistently. Since i took dance classes anyway it was easy for me to find the bass beat adn then all i had ot do was hit the arrows. |
