Yes, it is a official product of Sony. They only have it in Hing Kong right now.

I was browsing through patching at megagame and came across ".xps" format. This is the only format available to patch DDR 1st Edition Import. The problem is how do you patch it, I read the instructions about using dos command but im confuzed and have not got it to work, could someone who has knowledge about this or has patched using .xps please help.

Umm... I'm not too sure that it's an official sony product. I got a universal ps1 and it was modded with a stealth chip.

And how can you expect ANYTHING that comes from hong kong to be legit besides the food?

Did you also notice how it says you can play all of the PS2 titles... but fails to mention ps1? That should be a clue in to the fact that it's modded.

Finally, it can be used as a kind of strainer, where you force pancakes through the strings to see if a piece of gold got in a pancake somehow.

I need some advice.
I am ditching my US PS2 and selling it to a friend.

I want to be able to play my psone ddr imports,
my ps2 ddr domestic games, and ps2 ddr import games.
Not to mention burned games for psone and ps2.

Would I be better off getting one of those UNIVERSAL PS2 systems?

Or better getting a premodded system with a Messiah 2?

Thanks.

How does one get the JAP imports for DDR MAX2 and EXTREME to load on a US modded PS2 with a DMS3 chip? Other import games work as well so that's not an issue. It's the anti-mod thing.

I've got a DVD+R burner. Are there any patches for MAX2 or EXTREME yet? I know these two games are DVD-9's.

Curse these anti-mod chip games.

Oh well I've been enjoying R-Type Final.

Ok
I need some words of wisdom
would this be a good option:

http://www.the-console-corner.com/sony_ps2_-_special_edition.htm

I like the look of the midnight blue console and all the extras, but would this Messiah chip allow me to play:
ps1 and ps2 orignals (us and japan), copies, and all region dvd's?
thanks!

Fliptops are the bomb for import ddr games. On ps2cover.com , the Breaker Pro boots up all the ps1 ddr games and the Swap Magic boots up all the ps2 ddr games. I've tested it.

I'm officially saying that I jumped to conclusions. I wasn't using my DMS3 chip correctly. DDR MAX2 and EXTREME wokr now. I have to hold the eject button in for a few seconds.

A word of advice to non-Japanese readers like myself.
Any Japanese imports use these default settings:

O = confirm
X = back/cancel

I kept hitting X for confirm like a US game and I could never get past the loading screens! I feel like a retard D:

I just installed my PS2 Cover from PS2cover.com. It looks very nice but I am having a problem.

Normally, with the fliptop closed and ia DVD/CD inside, it vibrates like a mofo, and refuses to load any data while doing so. It's rather loud, and is rather disturbing. However, if you put a heavy object like a book on top of it, it works fine, and I can play ma import bemani fine.

What did I do wrong in installation? This vibrating is annoying, if it continues I'll install my origional top.

Also, I might add that my eject and power buttons work fine, but the power button does not display red anymore, it uses the green LED for both what used to be red and green.

Did you forget to put the piece that presses the CD down in?

Last I knew, you had to pop it out of your old cover, and snap it into the flip top cover. That way, the CD is pressed (and held) down and it spins.

Hopefully you didn't ruin any CDs that way :X.

does anyone know of a boot disk that will run 5th mix on a PSone without having to put in an anti-modchip code seperately.

basically, just a disk you pop in, run, then switch with 5th mix.

No.
There is no boot disk that you can just run to get access to 5th mix. You HAVE to use the anti-mod codes.

Although I don't own it to test it out, I thought that the new Breaker Pro has an option to turn mod protection on and off. I don't know if that means you also have to input codes. I also read that Breaker Pro only boots half the time and the other half has a lot of trouble booting and the disc itself is of poorer condition than the swap magic discs so purchase at your own risk.

By the way, I see that quite a few people got their fliptops from ps2cover.com. My experience with them is pretty bad. The short version is that if you are in the market for a fliptop and want to get it THIS YEAR then don't order from them. Purchase one through the U.S.-based ps2fliptop.com instead and you'll probably get it the next day or so.

Okay, question: Are Tsugaru's heavy steps changed in DDR Max2 (USA)? I thought I remembered a turn in the gallops.

And, FaerieLink, how the heck do you work at a place that had 4th mix? I want one... (they seem to be pretty rare, and ebay prices are steep)

*edit*
oh wait, import shop. Haha I'm smart.

i'm just wondering, i'm using a gameshark lite to play the PSX mixes (extra, 4th, and 5th) on my PS2 and i've put in the anti-mod codes, but for some reason, the game keeps shutting down by the anti-mod protection!!! is there anyway around this w/out patching???
