Yea, I was just pondering and though "Wouldn't it be cool if somone had an arcade but of only home versions of Bemani, in their house!?".
So, is this legal? Is it legal if you DONT charge?
Of course, I probably coulnd't do it anyway, it was just a cool thought I had.
thanks

none of the arcades (except for DDRUSA) in America are legal. having one in your home would be actually safer than having one in an arcade.
catas are 9-footers, btw. and of course, i'm talking about heavy. _________________

Catas are 9 footers
Pies are 10 footers

I am currently getting iidx and pop'n music for home and already have a nice ddr homemade metal pad.
(Off topic)
Yes, Pies = 10 footers, if you are going to use that terminology.
Cata is in the dictionary on this very site. A 9 foot song dating back to the 3rd mix when foot ratings had names, 9 footers were "Catastrophics" _________________

Well ok, thank you for clearing that up! The water that was once muddy is now clean
Anyway, nobody seems to understand what I'm saying. What I mean is I have the home version of DDR Extreme and a metal pad and blah blah blah. What I'm saying is, hypathetically (sp?) if I had like 4 PS2's and 4 TV's could I legally make an arcade out of home versions of bemani and have it like a REAL arcade just in my house?

it would just become a whole bunch of PS2's with DDR on it. it wouldn't change the fact that they are console versions. you wouldn't have your own arcade, just your own LAN. _________________

I don't see how they're networked. The ps2s don't actually talk to each other, do they?[/b] _________________

On Topic..... Well, i think its ONLY legal if you charge people to go into your house, not to play the actual game. _________________

So, is this legal? Is it legal if you DONT charge? | Soooo..... Let me get this straight. Is it legal to buy a PS2 game, set the game up in your house, and then alow people to come over and play? Yeah, I'd say that's pretty freakin' legal. |

Import games aren't for sale or use outside of Japan, so if you are playing like IIDX on your import PS2 some swat people could bust through your window at any time and bring yo azz to jail. _________________

actually, Konami of america liscenses the Japanese machine for stateside use, making them legal. But due to the whole bootlegging issue they haven't really bothered with it since 4th mix plus.
But yeah, Japanese DDR 1-4th, Solo and Solo Bass are legal and have been localized for the american market. As has Drummania up through 6th and Guitar Freaks through 7th, the first 2 Pop'n Musics and Beatmania through 5th. _________________
