1. Is it possible for a local computer store to install a mod chip?
2. If I sent my PS2 to PSX-Tech to have a mod chip installed how long will it take to get back to me?
3. If I got my mod chip installed by PSX-Tech how much will it cost?
Please, someone answer these questions before Christmas. |
Did you even check their website......
It took 2 days for my PS2 to get to him, he installed it the same day, and it took 2 days to get back to me. _________________

I'm just wondering, i ordered the flip-top mod, and when i get it and install it, will i be able to use the eject button for normal games??? cause i read early in the thread that one person (saijyan???) installed it and the magnet(???) holds the CD down, but he does'nt wanna hit the eject button cause something (sorry but, can't recall what it was) will fall into the laser.
Pretty much all i'm wondering is after the installaion (and it's working fine) will i still be able to use the eject button to for the tray to come out normal for US games, or will i have to insert everything thru the top of the PS2???
Thanx in advance for anyhelp!!!
EDIT: also, i ordered from modmonster.com, does anyone know if they are reliable??? _________________

Yes the Slide Card method I believe. Its free but damages your PS2.

As long as you do the mod correctly, there's no issue with still using the eject button. I myself always loaded it through the flip mod, solely because my PS2 is lower than I am.
There is no 'magnent' (only the plastic piece that holds it in place), or anything that prevents you from using the tray normally. _________________

Im going to assume the JAP version plays on JAP PS2s only _________________

You would assume correctly.
Swap Magic USA is for USA PS2s.
Swap Magic JP is for Japanese PS2s. _________________

Hey-
Just got my PS2 cover for Christmas. Everything seems to be working fine as far as booting up games goes- however, I was wondering exactly what to do about the screen that appears after the "Konami" logos. I can't read Japanese and don't understand what it's asking. I assume that it's trying to create a save file on my memory card, but I'm not sure. If this is the case, can anyone tell me what to do? Does anyone know what it's asking? Do I need a special memory card for modded games?
Many thanks. |

I have a burnt copy of 5th edition import; I patched the file and used anitmod codes to get it to work. It starts up "now loading" but it freezes there, it does not let me in the game, it just keeps flashing the "now loading" I would highly appreciate any help about how to fix this problem. Thanks. |

You break that power cord and youve broken your PS2 and have to send it off. I repeat DONT BREAK THAT POWER CORD
Ive never installed a fliptop but im going to assume all you do is transport the buttons to the new case. _________________

Errrrr, yeah, i did'nt mean to take it off the buttons, just off the shell of the actual PS2 cover.
I've looked but i can't seem to find a way to take the buttons (eject and reset) off the PS2 shell. This is my main concern....... _________________
