Why don't you go to the arcade? I have exactly the same problem but I play at the arcade and find the metal "pad" a lot better. _________________

HOW COULD YOU QUIT DDR?! LOL just joking there. But if you've really got a problem with those slipping and sliding mats you've got, then just go down to the arcades more often. Quittin DDR will just make you more pissed off everytime you see those pads. DDR at the arcade garantees 100% satisfaction! |

works very well |

I would recommend playing on a hard floor area and if it still slips, either go to the arcade or buy a metal pad. (very expensive though) |

it depends if he's looking for beginning, intermediate or advanced play. Take it from me, I've had that set up for two years and it only works for a small while. almost no matter what surface you played on and I've have carpet and hard floor, it will slip. either going to the arcade or buying or making your own metal pad are the only solutions. if you have the max 2 bundle with the pad from komani, those are pretty good for a soft pad on a hard wood floor that won't slip but won't help trying to play nine footers barefooted or socks. wearing shoes will just tear up the pad.
in conclusion, metal pads that you can play with shoes are the best thing for you. nothing else matters. just my two cents.
TAO-next year i will hopefully have a solution for myself. _________________

I had the same problem you had ( I can feel your pain). My soft pad crapped out on me even when i modded it so I just built a metal pad. You should get that thing building ASAP but if you can't do that, the next best thing I could think of is to buy foam for your soft pad thats about 1/4 in then cut out circles the size of a nickle. You just have to replace it with new foam cuz it's probobly worn out. |

Someone suggested getting those non-slip rubbery mesh mats that go under throw rugs to hold your pad in place. Also, when I play at home, I wear slipper socks, with the little rubbery nubs on the bottom.....it gives you good grip on the pad so you don't slip, and it also isn't rough enough to tear up your pad like shoes will.

Why do people make a whole topic about them quitting a video game?
I think they just want people to pitty them. _________________

It's awesome...that's what I did! I just duct taped the sucker on a chair mat. Check it out below.
I can't afford the hard mat like others. The black mats in the picture aren't mine....those ones suck anyways. _________________

soft pads are always kind of a drag. But the red octane ones are really good. Your best bet is to just mod them. That will really get you back into the game.
Also make sure to just adjust to a soft pad. I could never do crap on them until I played at the arcade. Now I can do heavy on mad catz pads. Of course you aren't near as good, but it's still fun. |
