Okay, so I just got a pad yesterday. DPR2 cheapie from my parents for Christmas, but I'm thankful anyway E1.gif Now, for the problem. So I haven't modded it yet, but I did have the plywood. I just hadn't rounded up the tape, staplegun, and the hardwood floor covering from the dungeon. So I had the pad sitting on the plywood to play, and I got it all set up and everything -- and I thought it worked. I got the program NTPad or whatever, and that worked pretty well, and I reconfigured the buttons, and THAT worked pretty well, and then I went to play. That didn't work so well. I'd had a few troubles pushing the buttons when reconfiguring the buttons, but I hadn't realized how much trouble I'd have when I went to play. The right/left arrows fail totally when selecting a song -- they do one of two things; don't work, or scroll for a while, randomly stopping. when dancing, it works in spurts. I'll do a LOT of missing that isn't me, and then all of a sudden it will start registering for about two steps (usually in a stream of one arrow, like all-right or all-up or something like that) It also registers jumps okay -- more frequently than anything else. Like -- of the songs butterfly and minority, both songs I know far too well, I failed butterfly with two marvelouses and a perfect and everything else miss, and failed minority with 20 or so registers and a everything else, miss. all those registers were jumps.

Is this a problem with SM? with my pad? How would I fix either?

If there's any other details you need, I'll try and remember them, but everything I could think of is here
