Well, when I did play it, I loved it! It's just too bad there's no PPP machine near me (3000 KM away ) |

In order:
Boom Boom Fire
Tora Tora Tora
Ale Japan
Anniversary
Dynamite Rave ~Super Euro Version~
Senorita (Fan-made para)
Speedway
Eurobeat
Luv to Me ~Super Eurp Version~
I learned the first 2 at Anime North in may (2003), I've only played it 2X in arcades but I'm in love with the game. And actually although the 'fad' was dead in Japan... Konami (if they were smart) could have repackaged it and introduced it to North America and could have had a new franchise to work with. _________________

Although I'm all for PPP coming over to PS2 for the U.S. there are some problems. For some reason there are a lot of haters of the game, they never say why they just say it's dead or it's stupid. DDR took a while for people to get used to and actually buy a home version of the game; with a PPP release in the states it will flop because with DDR there was the arcade machine that everybody saw and was used to but there is hardly and PPP machines and there is no fan base to sell the game to. I would buy it but that is not enough reason for a video game company to bring over a game. There are lots of games in Japan that never get released anywhere else because the game is too foreign to people outside of Japan and there are no people to play the game except in Japan. For example there are a whole bunch of video games that simulate the bullet trains of Japan and their routes; we never see them because it is too foreign. If PPP was released in the arcades first then at home it would be different. |

I believe if for anime cons featured or able to get PPP it would get some positive feedback. you know if it where promoted properly. I think it would be a good start. _________________

Hell yeah! I want PPP for PS2 but the controller and game are just so damn expensive.
A U.S. release doesn't seem likely cause you know, the culture would auto-assume it's gay because the cabinet is pink. |

Anime North has a PP workshop last year (in a tiny room) and this year it's supposed to be in a much larger room and also 2 PPP arcade units are rumoured to be in attendance.
Anyways I wish an official version was released for Dreamcast... even it was an import. _________________

I've been an official Para Para dancar(Or "Paralist" as we like to be known). The dances are really fun to learn. I own 2 of the VCDs that were realeased. I really do wish there was a US version of te game, that way I don't spend wso much money importing one. That whole thing about it being "Gay"... that's just stupid pplz ignorance. In Japan, everybody dances it and no one cared about ppl thinking they were gay if they were seen dancing it. I think Para Para is a lil' bit better then DDR, because there's more coordination involed in it. And besides, you actually DO dance on the machine, as where DDR you just step on the arrows....
Another thing.... I really don't think Para Para is dead in Japan.... There's still Para Para Nite Clubs in Japan, The most popular being Club Velfarre, and ppl still dance it..... I mean, if you look up Ganguro Girls from Japan, they're the ones who keep it alive. _________________

I'm working on Boom Boom Fire right now since it seems to be relatively easy. I am having fun with it even though I sux. The guys here are like "oh I am prolly better at you." But that think only in the sense of just passing the hands through the light beams rather than trying to learn the routines. _________________

Just because there's no memory to actually save on. It's not really a big deal... _________________

Yeah although I learned Boom Boom Fire back in May, I'm still trying to get the moves right and the movements much cleaner. I don't think I will never be 'not' working on the Paras I know!
I hope more actual Paralists will show up at Anime North! _________________

Yea I played para for the first time the other day and WOW its very addictive (Thanks JA ). Anyhow since then I've also tried the home version, and find the arcade version much easier as the sensors are wider and easier to hit. _________________

Yeah it's easier on the arcade version until you accidentally smack you hand against the pole or sensor up top. |
