I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in but I didn't really find another one. Anyway, me and a friend want to get a DDR Club for our school but we're not sure how to go about it. We know we'd need a teacher to suport the idea and stuff but we're hoping that some of you here can help us by giving us ideas about how to convince teachers and students into joining something like this. Like what its purpose would be, why it would be good for the school, etc. We figure we can pretty much bs them with how it helps you stay fit and hits fun and stuff but we need other things to top it off. Thanks in advance!

Lucky you that I'm here. I actually started a DDR Club in my school only a short while ago. It worked out pretty well. Here's what I did, and what you should do:
First off, get a petition signed by at least 10 people, showing that there's some support for your club, not just a small group, like 3 or 4, that want to make a big deal out of something small. Make up a paper with rules, guidelines, and purposes. Make something sappy for purposes, like: "It's a way for people to exercise and make new friends". Make up some rules, like: "A member has to show up once a month during meetings." Guidelines: "A meeting will be held once a month in (insert room here)". Also, on another paper, put you moderator, your president (probably you), and a vice president or other important members. For a moderator (teacher support), get somebody young that actually might get into DDR, too. You'll have a much better chance of it surviving.
After you do all this, bring all the papers to your activities director, student council, or principal and explain it. It'll most likely have to be approved by the principal. One thing that is most important: you MUST schedule a meeting with the principal to state your case and answer any questions he/she has.
Give it a shot, and let me know it goes _________________
