have you ever failed out after the first song, or second, or somthin, before all 3 are up?

Once i went to do wakka lakka for the first time, as my second song, and i set it at 1x speed (not good for sight reading), and i failed out (the machine i was playing at had 5 songs) it really sucked. wahyt about you?

I've done that a few times, when i was mad about passing psm-oni. The machine i play on has differing settings, level 4 difficulty first song, then 6, then 8. so i played it first song to give more chance of passing.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Ugh, I hate when that happens. I did Twinbee (Heavy) the other day as my first song, which normally I can get an A every time. I'm still not sure what happened. I must have just been reading the screen wrong for a while or something, but before I knew it, my life bar was gone. ARGHH! devil.gif

I don't think any machine changes difficulty every song, it just seems that was because you get tired as you progress through your set of songs.

I'm about 90% sure it does. One of the machines I play on is usually pretty lenient when you first start playing, but once to get to your last song, a miss knocks out over a third of your life.

uhm... I have passed HVAM with over 150 non combo steps on the first song, and failed it as the second song in the same manner. The machine does get progressivly merciless after each song.

Love Revenge oni, when I failed in the Matsuri Japan remix, the number of marvelouses, perfects, and greats I had were all single digits. I somehow had more misses than greats.

Biggest waste of a game ever. Almost as big as those two times I failed Classic oni on End of the Century.

I used to do this more often with the "3rd Mix Korean v2". But that's when I was starting and I usually do Soft Mode Light/Basic songs. "BB$: KOGG3" was the first I failed, cause I didn't knew that some songs were harder than others.

Last time something like this happened was on the "4th Mix Solo" and I failed "Bumblebee" on Light after doing "Kung Fu Fighting" on Heavy. This is due to the pad not working properly.

To prevent this from happening I do the ones I know how to do first...then I do the ones I don't know I can do for last. Or a thing that always helps is to play with a friend...and if I'm near failing I always have another friend on what we call "stand by"
Just in case I scew up a lot...I will have my back up E13.gif

the first time i EVER played on an arcade, it was an extreme machine, i picked heavy right off the bat. I played frozen ray, i thought i was all tough shit because i could AA it with fingers, but back then, i didnt know how to crossover with my feet. failed

E13.gif

If you think about ti, your 50-75 cents goes a long way when playing DDR.

Today i was in my schools gameroom, i stuck a quarter in to play this dude in mortal kombat, he pwned me in 30 seconds. Then i put 50 cents in to play on this POS cruisin usa game from like 1990. That lasted for about a minute and a half

Failing on your first stage? How else do you learn to play Max300?

I remember I would shove quarters down the machine one after another until $10 out I finall got a second stage. Hell, I was so excited I passed Max300, I walked off the machine and was gonna go get a drink, forgetting out my other 2 songs....

That and Exotic Ethnic... to which I owe all of my crossover skills to.
