If i had to go, 30 seconds was plenty of time to run to the bathroom and run right back in time for a song to start.

The only way i could do that would be if i was playing without pants and the toilet was 2 steps away from me.

Also, about then not knowing the different difficulties, they would have to research DDR in order to see that it would be some endurance-related thing.

Also, will you post the rules you got from Guinness?

I live in Bend, and spent some time watching the two. They got a fifteen minute break very eight hours. They could play any level song they wanted to, and if they failed a song, they were out. Chris failed a song when some lady told them to do a hard song so her children to see.

Not to sound mean, but we already knew that.

You do have a title. from your signature, i'm at a better foot level than you, but i can't pass lesson oni. It's too slow! I don't know what title that is, but it has to be some kind of title

probably going to get warning points for that

Okay, enough with the Lesson Oni stuff. How about somebody that has something to say about the record post, or we can wait for Drew to post the rules like I kindly asked. I'm sure we all want to know what they are.

in reference to the marathon running thing

i do belive he said 2 steps a second, but if we compare them,

lets just say you split yourself in 2, one of them playing non stop LOM heavy for the same amount of time you ran that marathon race. or even something like paranoia survivor?

i think its a great achivement, awesome job dude. it must have been hell through those last hours.

I dont want to sound hateful, but if i could play any difficulty, i would just stick to easy stuff and i could definately play for that long. I probably wouldnt play any heavy songs, except maybe after the game of love or put your faith in me. Once I know the rules, me and a friend may try and break the record.

Wow, I didn't realize the record was so low. I hate to sound rude but I've been known to play DDR at home for 15 hours at a time, nonstop, mostly heavy, without failing, and barely be phased by it. I think I would dominate if I just set it to light mode songs. Maybe I should try for the record, especially if I can help a charitable foundation as they did. Why should I kid myself though, setting up all that is too much effort for me, even for an obsession. Anyways, way to go guys, and again I don't mean to sound rude.

So yeah... I would definatly like to see these rules rather than wait even longer for Guiness to get back to me... I emailed them a few weeks ago... and I really would like to see these rules. I have an arcade that is willing to allow myself and two other guys (there's an extreme SOLO machine and an extreme machine) to do it. We plan on doing only standard and light... not even going to touch beginner, but we'll see. The machine has memory cards and we'll be photographing any aaa's and recording alllll the stuff on like...3 or 4 memory cards for each guy since each one only holds 170something saves. But yeah. The rules would be greatfully appreciated so we can do this before one of the guys goes back to school.

Myself, I've stayed awake for 50+ hours many a time... calculus get's harder after 30 or so hours... but whatever. I've ran cross country quite a lot, but I'm just wondering any advice you would have (Drew) for fellow record breakers. I know staying hydrated BEFORE and during is definatly a requirement, but anything else in the line of advice would be greatly appreciated. Especially the rules.

Yeah. The rules. (:

there are marathons longer then the 100k one. and they are here in california. there is a horse race that happens once a year in auborn called the Tevis Cup. but it is also ran once a year by peaople it is through mountains and trail. and it is 100 miles long. my mom did it on horseback and finished 25th of 200 in 19.5 hours but a guy i know has ran it twice on foot and he finished once 26 hours and the second time 23.5 hours but he could hardly walk afterwards. yep E13.gif

Just so everybody knows I will be attempting the breaking of this record in the next few months in MASS for the charity of My Brother's Table in Lynn, the only thing is I am talking with FYE to see when a good couple of days during the week would be. I will be attempting to go for at least 38 and at the most 48, and after I set that record I will be declaring that if anybody breaks my record, within 3-4 months(enough time to talk to arcade and charity)after my record is broken I will add at least an hour to their time or at the most double it. Might sound like I'm lying but I kid you not because I play videogames at least 12 hours a day ddr for about 3 of them just building my endurance. Plus I am the biggest caffine addict in the world so staying awake is no problem.

Beleive me, you say that now, but two days on a DDR machine without sleep will get to you. You will either fail somewhere around 24 hours or break down into tears after 30. Trust me it's a LOOOOONG time. And unless you eat a whole box of powdered chai tea before playing (on average) you aren't a caffiene addict in my book. Also, severe fatigue sets in around 17 hours. WELL GUESS WHAT!?! you would still have another 31 hours to go to reach your max!!!! So don't say things you don'g mean. Also I would like to note the fact that you are all attempting this because you are getting it from Drew's idea for a record, just because it hasn't already been set to obscenely large time limit by the Japanese. frust.gif

Not to be rude, I do respect you all for wanting to beat my record, but I give you little respect for even giving me time to establish my record officialy (you do want to break something official right). Anyone claiming to attempt this record already should be fully aware that already 6 or 7 groups are "claiming" to break it in the next few months, if not already.

If you are serious about this, and not just throwing bs up here to shame me, or boust about yourself, do yourself a favor and wait until next summer, after the guinness books have been published. THEN take it from there.
