99.9% of anything anyone will ever have to say in this forum will relate to:
a) metal pads
b) soft pads
c) building pads
d) the latest home versions
Yes, there are sticky topics for all of these things. They're great for general information and frequently asked questions, but that doesn't mean anything that brings up one of these topics has to be shoved into a sticky thread. That defeats the logical structure of a forum. If I have a question I want answered, I don't want to put it on page 742 of some overly broad thread where either no one will ever see it or everyone will ignore it.
This is a perfect example of overzealous moderation. _________________

1) This doesn't belong in console games.
2) Have a look at the threads. There's plenty of discussion in NON stickey'ed topics.
3) You meant to tell me, that if you ask a question in one thread, you don't see an answer?
There are pages and pages of threads because people have gotten help.
Look at the home build metal pad thread, TONS of people helping out. 1 topic for that. That's right, just 1.
Tons of people check those threads.
I did this today because I let the threads go on for far too long, the same thing would have happened if myself or Remy hit them as soon as they opened.
Except, it wouldn't be a big deal because you wouldn't see the line of locks.
This is not over-zealous modding, and if you have an issue with me or my decisions, PM ME. Do not make a new topic just for this. _________________

Just to add two cents from me as well:
Part of the condition of this lock spree, as I discussed earlier with Jason, is that we get a new, consolidated, one topic locked sticky up with a buying guide. All the soft pads and reviews, all the metal pads and reviews, and all the converters and reviews/compatability.
I'm fine with very specific "I'm having this one exact problem with my pad" threads staying open, or people trying to noodle out particular things about a console game, but 75% of the new threads have been:
-I need to buy something relating to Ultramix (converter/pad/game itself), what do I buy?
-What metal pad do I get?
-What soft pad do I get?
And THAT has always been taken care of by the stickies. _________________
