Atleast all the girls i know would say it is pointless and weird, I'm a lady's man so i don't really feel like telling any girls that i know well that i play DDR. Or some guys i know. My responce would be, "your gay, you Dance, guys don't dance" And overall i think it is because some girls really wouldn't care to play a game. However, girls are more self-conscious when it comes to playing DDR in the arcade. Some think it's cool, but too hard to pick up and some think they'll look plain stupid playing it.

6. Why do you ddr? It's a great workout, it fosters a sense of achievement in oneself whilst passing difficult-leveled songs, builds self-confidence as well as a feeling for rhythm in music...and it's HELLA FUN, yo!

7. Why do you think guys dance more then girls do? (If you think the other way around say why): It's all in the video game portion of DDR. Basically, the majority of gamers in the arcades are guys. Also, psychologically, males are more encouraged to go do active, fighting, and shooting games while females don't usually have a liking for those things. But DDR is one of the exceptions in the gaming world, since there are many more elements to it (beat, speed, etc).

6. Why do you ddr? It's the only fun exercise I can find and it provides for great social opportunites as communites form around the machine.
7. Why do you think guys dance more then girls do? (If you think the other way around say why): I think girls are more hesitant to give the game a try when there are people around. I've found at both the arcade and events I've run that girls will not try it if there are people around they do not know well. They will only play with close friends. DDR is also a video game. It is accepted that guys play video games, but it is still odd for girls to do so.
So, I think it has to do with girls worrying about fitting into the stereotypes our culture demands of them.

Girls, I think, are afaid of looking like idiots and claiming that DDR is stupid. This is my opinion though.
