Whenever I don't play DDR for an extended period of time (several weeks), i go into what I like to call a DDR withdrawl. I find myself doing R&P on the floor during school. And the only way I've found to cure it is to go to the arcarde and play DDR for a few hours. Has this happened to anyone else before, or am I just a little weird?

By the way, I haven't been to the arcade in about a month and a half.

The only way i can still function relatively normally is the fact that i have stepmania on my computer which I play about once a week or whenever i wanna get away from the world, my parents aren't home, and I have an hour to kill. E1.gif

i know exactly what you mean. i didn't get to play ddr for three weeks (This is my first week back at the arcades) due to arcade maintienence, illness, and vacation.

i would also play SM, all the time. but i have a virus/graphics card problem on my pc, and i can't run it. frown.gif

My longest DDR withdrawal was about three weeks. I came up to the machine with a printed list of songs to play. And during the withdrawal, when no-one was around I started stepping randomly.

As for the whole arrow fever thing (arrows when you close your eyes), only during the first day and maybe after ridiculously long (4+ hour) sessions

I went for about 2 and a half weeks without DDR (homework, sickness, no ride). I started listening to my DDR cds and taping arrows to the floor and printing out the step patterns. Of course this freaked out my mom a bit.

I also see arrows when I close my eyes. But this happens whether I've played DDR for 4 hours or if I've gone a week without it.

I get withdrawl after a week, since I play more regularly now. If I play for an extended period (Like a couple of hours) of time I see the arrows when I go to sleep. Normally I can tell that I need to go play when I start feeling like I need to go do some running or my legs start feeling like they're going to cramp up for no reason at all.

I'm going through withdrawl right now... machine withdrawl, that is... you see, I don't have a machine to play on for the next week, so I find myself playing a lot of PS2 DDR, but the perfect window is too large... E2.gif

I don't really go through withdrawl, but I do get pissed when I can't do as good when I stay away from DDR for too long....

I do the tapping my feet thing all the time, especially if I have a DDR song stuck in my head.

Never seen arrows when I close my eyes, though... I'll have to try that next time I go to the arcade.

ddr withdrawal...nah..

I'm lucky if I get to play ddr at least twice a month now. school, work, bills, being without a job for some periods of time, rent, almost homeless. sigh

lucky I have all the mixes at home to at least learn the music alot better.

TAO-if my life gets any better, I hopefully have a metal pad soon...after the bills are gone of course

I know this one guy that is really i mean really good at ddr and he was banned from the mall for a whole year for punching some guy in the face. the arcade in the mall is the only outlet for ddr he has. the other day he gave into temptation and snuck into the arcade. the only way he was able to was that he works at one of the stores in the mall so he was there anyway. The thing is that he works at game stop and the arcade is on the other side of the mall.

I experienced "Withdraw" over the summer, where I went for 3 weeks without DDR. I downloaded songs, printed stepcharts, and imagined playing.....this freaked a few people out. I am glad to say this will never happen again thanks to SM and my weekly DDR trips. Last week though the machine was out of order so I went to best buy and played the Max2 demo with pad they have set up.

Yeah, that happens alot to me. I have a bunch of step charts (courtesy of DDR Freak E4.gif ) that I have all over my binders, and I pretend I'm on the pad doing the steps all of the time. Call it a sickness...whatever. It helps, though. when you go to the arcade to play them finally, you know the stpes really well, and it makes it easier and more fun.
