Mine has about 1/4 inch of shag to it.

I put it on a vinal floor mat and it still slides, the kind you see at office depot stores and whatnot that are for computer chairs.

where do I buy grip tape? also I was wondering if the intensity at which I play has something to do with it.. if so how can I weigh down the pad?

260 lbs, 5'11 and play 9 footers usually, but the pad slides around like crazy on easy songs like Maxx unlimited std.

I was also thinking about velcro but not sure if that's cool.

A technique that may also work for you would be to get some heavy lead blocks, and use those to "pin" the pad in. A 30 lb lead block is only like 3" x 4" x 10", and AFAIK, it's pretty cheap - Look in marine supply stores like West Marine and E&B.

Oh...and don't eat it.

pablo

velc or grip tape?

cutriss, like on the ground alongside the pad or on the corners of the pad itself? or maybe you could do a cool mspaint sketch, I'm not really digging into the depth of the idea here.

velcro. mine already had come with grip tape on it and it still slid. the grip tape is for hard floor. just make sure its taped really well like I said cuz it comes off easily use strong tape, or staples the velcro along all the edges preferably.

Just a note on putting velcro on the bottom of your pad. If you put the side with hooks on the bottom, which I'm assuming you would, do NOT place the velcro on the very edge of the pad. You will have an extremely difficult time removing it from carpet if the velcro decides it wants to stick well. I bought some velcro just like the kind used inside of the CF pad, and I have 9 squares on the bottom of my platform. That thing will NOT move no matter what you do to it, even trying to pry it up is fairly difficult. Just a warning.

My pads aren't CF, however what I did may help you too. I have a pair of Cypher games and I put them into a wood frame that holds them in place very well.

Whenever I see that word I start laughing uncontrollably. laugh.gif you know the one.

You might want to consider moving your TV somewhere else when you want to play DDR because I don't think it'd be that great to play on the carpet...

I don't know Colorado fusion... who or what's that?

My dad actually helped me by doing the wood frame. it spans all the way under the pair of pads and then 1x2 pieces of wood surround the outsides with a break for the start and select buttons which are in the front of the pads. We secured the corners of the pads down with the metal pieces that were on the bottoms of the pads where the screws and rubber feet were.
