Since we have that thread in DDR @ Home for people to post Live GamerTags, would it not be nifty and/or helpful to add a field to the profile section for GamerTags? Something along the lines of the XDATA and Custom Profiles mod was what I was thinking...that way you could just have another button on the contact bar to represent GamerTags. It wouldn't have to pop up anything or have a system context (like that'd help on a PC...), but it'd be nice to have it as a reference.
Also, as an interesting note, I was browsing the Xbox Live site, and I found this...
Most Requested Gamertags wrote: | Gamers like animals. Wolves (in order of rank, as are all the 'tags that follow): Nightwolf, Lonewolf, Rabid Wolf) and hawks (Hawk, HawkEye, Blackhawk, NightHawk) are favorites, and dogs are especially well represented (Reddog, Big Dog, Mad Dog, GhostDog , J Dogg,). Other popular critters are Snake, Raven, Salamander, Gator, Scorpion, Rat, Bear, Fox, Fish, Squid, Monkey, and Falcon. |

I don't think J Dogg will want to add any more mods into the boards or change settings like that. I've seen a bunch of people who have just put it in their signatures.... _________________

The difference is that the fields aren't visible to regular users, which is probably what the customizations added reflect.
So, this wouldn't take much modification, likely. _________________

Well yeah, the warning points system IS a mod, a very well organized one might I add. The Ultramix addition wouldn't really reflect on every user, so the profiles would be different....Symmetry is probobly something that DDRFreak wants to keep. _________________

A contact button isn't displayed if its corresponding record is empty. For instance, I don't use Yahoo Messenger, and thus I have no info in the Y! IM field, and the button doesn't show up. If you add a field to the user table and set it up similarly to how it's managed in XDATA, then it should work the same way. If a user enters a GamerTag, then it shows up on the button. If nothing is entered, then nothing shows up.
As far as I could tell, there's no guaranteed way of *using* that data on the PC. In other words, like with AIM, you can click the button and the service context maps it to an AIM command. The URL could simply be an invalid URL containing text indicating something like "GamerTag = Cutriss". All you have to do is mouseover it and look in the status bar (or click on it, and you'd find out), and voila. _________________
