I was just wondering this because it seems like they spend a huge amount of time posting/locking and all that other stuff mods do.

Yes, I am still waiting for my check.

...ok, maybe not.

No, it's really volunteer work. I, personally, just enjoy being in the act of organization and community.

that's crazy...i mean, seems like mods spend all their time on these boards, does being a moderator sometimes interfere with your other activites outside the house (or wherever your computers is)...it seems like it could/would...

No no, it's just me spending all my free time here. =P

Actually, many of the moderators work behind a computer during the day so it's easy for them to browse and moderate in between whatever work they do.

Someone told me this once:

Being a moderator is just like being a regular member, except you take care of the problems that may arise and lead people in the correct directions.

*raises hand*

That'd be me, so I suppose that in a sense I DO get paid to moderate, but not by DDR Freak. E10.gif And of course, my work comes first, so when things get busy you don't see me moderating as much (like last week.)

J Dogg does lots of neato things to keep us motivated, though. E1.gif

I'm at work right now. E1.gif Real work, I mean. But I make toy websites, so my real job is fun AND DDR Freak is fun.

And J Dogg rocks.

Really? So why don't you tell us about these tri-...I mean, "things" to keep you motivated? E10.gif

Woohoo, another month and I have the same chance as everyone else to become a moderator. Instead of -1 chances, I'll have 0 chance/s, thanks to the lovely point deduction system.

I live an entire ocean away from E3 :{

I'd feel weird if we did get paid for it. I mean, then I would have to say that my job is "moderating three boards on an internet forum". Which probably wouldn't look too hot on my CV riiight.gif
