Ddr+rpg= Ddrpg?

ok, as some of us know, dancing just isn't enough. if dance dance were to have a story line to it, letting you play as a character through many trials and hardships, it may be quite good. you walk around, asking random people to play ddr with you. if you happen to beat them, you win cash, spendable on new songs for a multiplayer mode. there could also be certain objectives, like beating the evil DDR expert at the mega arcade. Well, I dont really have time to expand on this, but I just think it'd be pretty cool to mix DDR and actualy give it a story line. stupid? maybe. cool? maybe. I dont know.l

I was just thinking about this a few days ago

But yeah I guess if it was a little small side thing and didnt eat up the whole game itself I guess it would be cool to have there.

*Jake uses [Can of Soda] on Kyle's pad!*

*Kyle's speed is reduced 15 points!*

*Kyle counters with the spell of [Bar Removal]*

Jake: Noooo!!! My crutch!

*Jake fails*

*Kyle gains 153 experience points!*
Kyle is now level 8!*
Kyle has gained the skill [Crossover]!*

*exit battle mode*

Jake: Oooohh... my side...

Kyle: *victory dance* I AM the man!

But wouldn't it be fun to play as your favorite character, and go against a computer simulated opponent, and pull off psycho moves that would obliterate the pad or whatnot, earn money, buy songs... meh, don't think it would work, but it'd be a nice thing to try. :shrugs:

I was thinking about this myself. It would be interesting and could work if done right. But Squaresoft would fuck it up so bad if they got involved.

I think that it would make a great RPG! Imagine if it was a online rpg, people running around to different locations within a specified world and each location/arcade would have a champion for each division of play(light,standard,heavy) and it would be an actual person that you play. It would need some work though because how could you possible play a person that couldn't be online at all times?

MAybe if there was a characters in the game that were default champions for each arcade/location in every division. Your wins could be tallied just like how madden works online.

But, then again who would want to run around a world to talk to people and challenge them to a match when they could just use a chatroom to go get through all of the extra BS.

I just hope that Konami has enough sense to make DDR Extreme an online game whenever it's released onto the PS2 probably later next year, I'm sure that more people own PS2's than X-Box right now.

That is the best suggestion I have heard all day. Oh it would be sweet to play versus online. And if they brought back battle mode too.

But the rpg thingy is sounding better and better. I would so rip the username "Dances with Clams" from Shadowrun. That would be a spiffy name for a DDRMMORPG.

it'd be cool if something like that did happen and you can pick between any of the ddr characters and actually progress through a story and all of that other good stuff!
