DDR movie casting call or movie idea thread

I know for a fact that the majority of the DDR community is opposed to a live action movie. However, that doesn't stop us from dreaming. Which celebrity do you think can play a particular DDR dancing character from 1st-5th mix? Or feel free to post your DDR movie idea.

If any movie were to be made about DDR, it would most likely either be some kid that wants desperately to be real good and almost comes up short, but due tot he insparation of his friends he passes with a AAA in..... PSM Double Maniac...

A movie about a kid that never played the game before in his life... but does it once and does so good he is considered some kind of master. He goes on to the same ending as the previosuly stated movie..... wins the big tourniment. This one would probably be centered around love.

Here's a interesting idea...get a bunch of people, dress them up as DDR characters, have the evil oni girl try taking over the DDR world

Enh, I don't like the idea of a live-action DDR movie. If someone can manage to put it all together and actually make it look good, then that's just dandy, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's tough enough finding good fanfics.

An Anime movie would much better than a live action movie. (a series would be cool too)

Akira and Rage and Robo could be like friends and they play DDR and get chalenged by Devil Zukin and Rage and what not. OOOH! they could have special powers and fight eachother while trying to keep a combo, oh and what about transformations! that could be cool too.

I dont think I movie would be too succesful, but maybe an anime series. who knows, we could have the saturday morning dance dance variety hour, or better yet, dance dance puppets! oh joy!

Done and done! My friend Dark Ethnicity (on the forums) wrote a DDR script about all of our crew and some world tournament maybe like half a year ago. It was awsome. But those ideas would make it so much better.

How about this concept for Live action DDR Movie....

Movie opens by introducing five people from five different places who had never met each other in their entire life.

After Maybe a 7-10 Minute segment introducing the character and getting the audience to understand them, the setting switches to a widely advertised tournament in which the grand prize is a lofty sum of money. (Make other proceeds from the tourney benefit some kind of medical research, etc.)

OK, so these five previously introduced characters enter this tournament not just to win. They need the money for a special reason, noble or otherwise (E.G. Chaz needs the money to pay for his poor sick kitty cat's operation, while Cassandra sees a humungous shopping spree etc.) Each knows their reason for participating and all five have the same goal, to win.

The suspense in the film would revolve around the audience's feelings for any one particular character which is developed during the introductory phase of the movie. Part of the audience wants one person to win, while another part of the audience wants a different victor.

The tournament begins and you can all use your imagination from there.

We'll use the example of Chaz again and have his opponent, Random.guy.

Chaz: Oh, no! Max 300!
R.G: hahaha! (I've got him now)

Song plays, characters dance. Chaz thinks to himself about how much trouble he's in. Thinking of his poor sick Fluffy. But alas, In a split second, Random.guy gets his foot caught on the bar and slips and falls on his face or something.

(I'm making this up off the top of my head)

Anyway, what happens after the intro and throughout the tournament would still have people rooting for their favorite of the five characters. Of course, to keep interest in the film, they'd each have to make it pretty far. Maybe even have a real suspense match between two of the main characters.

Well, that's my idea....

or it could be about a documentary on how quick it takes a n00b to become among the 1337. Or evil four leggged aliens hijack all of the ddr machines and the humans to have to beat them. even though they got 4 legs. MY IDEAS ARE CRAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should be about an arcade owner holding a tournament where some amazing stuff happens, rather than on an actual player, then the audience wouldn't feel like they have to know alot about DDR to watch it.

I've now been sitting at the keyboard for about 10 minutes, staring at this text box, thinking over and over of how I could possibly express how utterly moronic the concept of a live action DDR movie is. What it comes down to is that I can't. There are not enough words in the English language to describe the sheer stupidity. Hell, there aren't enough words in any language. In fact, I am now going to invent a word for the previously unheard of levels of horribleness: hideostupiotic. As in, "That idea is so hideostupiotic it makes my head want to explode."

I remember a movie called Wizard about this kid who played video games and was in a video game tournament, so actually a movie about someone living in California going to enter a tournament for some cool cause or whatever might work...but no.

All I can see is this becoming a Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon/Digimon anime with kids collecting DDR Cards!

Kid 1: I use Hot Limit on your Rage Dancer!

Kid 2: But I use my trap card, Flash in the Night! Your John Desire Card is blinded for 3 stages!

Kid 1: Thats was sooo hideostupotic, you didn't even see my Bar Rape Card with 733t n00b attached.. I steal 5 Perfects from your Combo with Heckle!!

Here's my dream for a movie:(This is only a DVD)

Each character has there own featre length film.

Choose which one you want.

Then you take there roll with a DDR pad at hand(Special, comes with the DVD:Remember, this is my DREAM).

You go through playing DDR againts people in the movie.

So basically, a DDR Story mode.

(The DVD will cost $19.99)

you know the movie with the kid who is so good at super mario brothers 3 even before the game came out he knew all the secrets for it..what was the name of this movie??? The Wizard? i think idk but that was the first movie based on playing games so..maybe a DDR documentary...YEAH a documentary with a bucnh of interviews like ddrbot (blurred face hehe) and arron and translations from yasu or take it would be cool

I've got it! after much thinking (approximately 15 seconds) I developed something so bizzar, it'll sahake your socks off...or not

in this movie, an evil DDRer hold a tounement, the prizes grand, but if you lose...

YOU LOSE YOUR LIFE!!!

Also, a dance off to the death, 2 combatance face eachother, dancing until one dies completely. Your soul will belong to the DDR master if you cannot defeat him! ok, now this is sounding like mortal combat...but now I think I have something...mixing DDR and RPG...BRILLIANT! post about it elsewhere

I Don't know if you guys remember but a while back they actually had a casting call for a ddr movie, But i think someone started a petition to stopped it. and of course i signed up for it to. It was the dumbest Idea ever!

But a documentary on ddr sounds a little better, i'd actually watch that.
