DDR's always been hard.. Paranoia used to be the hardest song there was, and as people passed it, it became easy. So konami keeps making songs harder to stop it from getting dull.

WHAT A CONCEPT!

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

the period button is two buttons over from the 'm' key. the comma button is one button over. use them.

your point as i understand it:

1. ddr songs are getting harder
2. people have switched from FS to PA

both of these points are basically self-evident. #1 is obviously true because Konami needs to keep the game continously challenging. #2 is empirical - aaron basically concedes fs is dead in japan, and not as many people seem to care about fs nearly as much as pa anymore. of course, there are exceptions, but that's the general condition of the ddr scene.

...was there a point to this thread, btw?

Shift key...2 away from that lovely period key.

Give the man some slack here. Sure, he's not using the nice commas and periods that we all learned about in something like 1st grade, but neither do half of the posters here. Besides, the guy's trying to start conversation.

Anyway, I do know what you're talking about, Zig. MAD people are PAing when all I hear about in the "old school" days were great FS routines. I, for one, enjoy watching FS vids and having insane amounts of fun on the pads (especially dressing up), but that may be because of the fact that I can't PA. If you want, try to get a few PAers to FS with you. Puts fun back into the game, if that's what you're worried about (and notice what the guy says on Max period).

I noticed that when I started playing a lot of people were doing FS and not caring too much about the PA. But now there has been a big shift at least in my area where PA is what you do and FS is what only a few that can come up with something good can do. As for speeding up things for a challenge, I think that is the natural progression of a series of games right there. Which is a good thing especially for DDR. biggrin.gif

Not quite, Mystik. The way I see it -

Anybody can try to PA, but only a few truly know how to PA.

Anybody can try to FS, but only a few truly know how to FS.

Neither is superior to the other. They're just different ways of enjoying the same game. I personally think FSing is awesome and I was actually thinking about making a routine or three; too bad finals are in two weeks disgust.gif

Yeah, I guess I kinda understand what your tryna say. How people who FS are tryna to PA and vice versa, because FS is something I'm tryna add to my skills. You are right how songs are getting harder and harder to pass with each mix.
