Thanks, ok I have another question. . Do you know exactly where that is? Like...an address for mapquest? Maybe? haha. How long till they fix it, MA isn't that far from here, it would be cool to check one out.
Also, is there a DDR there? _________________

Where can I buy a Pop'n Music arcade style controller?
If the site is in Japanese or characters, can someone link me the site that can translate other sites? (I forgot the name of it).
I would simply search the forums because it was posted before; but honestly, I don't have the time right now.
Thanks. |

Generally.. PM8 would be the best to start with because of Study Channel, which lets you start with 1-line and move your way to 9-line. However, if you play iidx, then you should be able to start out on 9-line. As for controllers.. well, I believe it would be best to start on the controller that you plan to use primarily in the long run. |

The entire purpose of me posting was to ask for a direct link to a site that sells PnMASCs. I am totally aware of that thread, and by searching through it for a link would defeat the purpose of asking for it because I am short on time. Thanks anyway "" |

Yeah, gotta save those precious 5 seconds it takes to go to that sticky and see the "direct link" on the first fucking post. Stop whining and use the stickies - that's what they're there for. And if the sticky doesn't have what you're looking for in the first post - which, 90% of the time, they do - than simply ask in that sticky for the quickest response. _________________

Question about Pop'n 8...
How the hell do you get Bonus Stage?!
I've tried a bunch of things. I've gotten 95,000+ on all 3 songs. I've full-combo'd all 3 songs (both on hyper all three). I've 100,000'd my best 3 songs, etc, and still can't figure out for the life of me how exactly you get the bonus stage!
Does anyone know the exact requirements for it? Cause from here, it seems to be a completely random thing. I wanna get some EX difficulties for some songs, but the only way you can do this with some songs is Bonus Stage. And ever since I found this out, I've been trying to get into BS like crazy, but haven't been able to for 3 days -_- _________________

You play Challenge Mode of course. The number of points you get at the end of each game determines what you get, which is usually shown in the bottom right of the screen. Not score, but Challenge Points.
You select any song of any difficultly. The level number difficulty showns how much that song is worth if you beat it.
After you select the song of your choice you can add 1 or 2 modifiers to the song if you want, which you should do if you want the Bonus Stage. Every modifer is worth a certain amount of points which is added to the level difficulty. You only get the extra challenge points if you fufill the requirement the modifier asks. Some mods ask to reach a certain score or a certain combo or don't miss too many notes. Others ask to beat the song with the gameplay changed slightly like the screen shaking around, or the notes looking different. The more points a mod is worth, the harder it is to complete the song with.
While playing, you'll know if you fufilled one of the mods if you see a red circle at the top of the screen. But a blue X if you failed one of the mods.
Each song you complete will add up your challenge points. You'll see them on the results screen.
Once the challenge points are all added up, you get a point total which gets you whatever is shown below:
From Gamefaqs
0-1 No Bonus 70-71 EX Stage 104-106 Omake CG
02-13 Omage CG 72 Movie 107 EX Stage
14-18 EX Stage 73-76 Omake CG 108 Movie
19-43 Omake CG 77 Movie 109 Omake CG
44 Movie 78 EX Stage 110-111 Movie
45-49 Omake CG 79-82 Omake CG 112 Omake CG
50-51 EX Stage 83 Movie 113 Movie
52-54 Omake CG 84-89 Omake CG 114 EX Stage
55-56 Movie 90-91 Movie 115-116 Movie
57-58 Omake CG 92 Omake CG 117 Omake CG
59 Ex Stage 93 EX Stage 118 Movie
60-62 Omake CG 94 Omake CG 119 EX Stage
63 Movie 95-96 Movie 120-124 Movie
64-68 Omake CG 97-102 Omake CG 125-148 EX Stage
69 Movie 103 EX Stage 149 Movie
Any score higher than 149 - EX Stage
Sometimes you won't be able to play the bonus stage until you play through arcade mode again. You'll know you've done it if you see Mimi and Nyami dancing differently or looking different on the title screen. |

You're welcome.
Man, theres hardly anything discussed about this great series lately in this thread, even though Pop N Music 9 is coming soon to PS2. Not even a favorite songs discussion, favorite character discussion or favorite modifer discussion or anything. All I see mainly was building or getting access to an arcade style controller.
I have only played Pop N' Music 8 on PS2 and Pop N' 9 at AI a few times, and I am having so much fun with the games.
But I sure am glad I tried this series out. I can't believe how many good songs there are, even though most use Japanese lyrics. And to me, theres a lot of songs in Pop N Music that would be just fun to play in ddr. Too bad theres only a few in ddr extreme. |

The challenge mode EX stage isn't the same as the Bonus stage. Bonus stage also isn't limited to challenge mode at all - some other qualifier determines which you get (there are 4 types of Bonus stages). I'm sure the official site says what the requirements are, but I lack the language skills to figure it out. x_x _________________

about bonus stage.. the most important diff between bonus stage and extra stage is that in bonus stage, there are several EX versions of songs that are not available in extra stage.
as for getting to bonus stage.. the site doesn't tell you exactly what you have to do. however it does say that if you meet certain requirenents while playing in arcade mode, the next time you get to the title screen, mimi and nyami will be jumping up and down (much higher than usual), and there'll be more words, etc. popping up on the screen. when you see this, any play either challenge or normal mode, you will get bonus stage after final stage.
also, i've noticed that once you play enough songs, or something (ihaven't figured out exactly what) bonus stage will be available every time you play. |
