Obvious Fact:
Re-venG and De-Sire are actually just aliases (if you want to call them that) of Naoki. _________________

1. Xenon is the name of an element
2. Kakumei is a japanese word that means "revolutionary." There was music that sounded just like Kakumei and dj TAKA and Naoki remixed it for DDR.
3. Konami's "magic #" is 573 which is also the max combo in MAX 300.
4. The artist of MAX 300 is Omega. The artist of MaxX Unlimited is Z, which is actually Roman for Omega. In other words, Z and Omega are the same thing. |

Burning heat and Gradius Cyber were both from Gradius.
DDR's fastest song is Max. (period) for the extreme japanese home version.
DDR started to be 60 fps on the 5th mix
DDR Extreme has had the most songs so far.
The 10 footer was brough in on the 6th mix... with Max 300
DDR_ADDICT- kakumei is based off a chopin song. _________________

They got it from Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude"
The Konami code is up up down down left right left right b a b a start
The start of Twinbee ~Generation X~ coincidentally is up up down down left right left right. (Twinbee was a game made by Konami) _________________

DDR has a total of 6 different arrow directions.
It was made in 1998 I believe.
The really bad mats have arrows that are farther apart.
The "inner arrow" is broken up into 3 sections.
DDR stands for Dance Dance Revolution.
The mats at the arcade are always metal.
Landing a knee drop on a screw hurts 90% of the time.
There are five different difficulties of DDR, Beginner, Light/Basic, Standard/Trick, Heavy/Maniac, Challenge.
There are many different Zukins.
10 footers, or pies are the hardest songs.
Never expect to sightread Bag on 1x and pass it.
There are 20 DDR Commandments, put into effect by Ace of Hearts, and you should obey them:
Ace of Hearts wrote: |
The 20 DDR Commandments
General DDR Commandments
(1) DDR is thy game; thou shalt have no other games before it.
(2) Thou shalt not play cheap spinoffs of DDR, or create for thyself any likeness. (Thou shalt, however, feel free to make edits in Edit Mode on the home console versions.)
(3) Thou shalt not take the name of DDR in vain.
(4) Remember Bemani, to keep it holy.
Behavior of Players and Other General Behavior
(5) Honor those who are more skilled than thyself, for one day thou mayest end up playing with them.
(6) Thou shalt not kill newbies, for they know not what they do, and one day they mayest end up playing with you.
(7) Thou mayest think dirty thoughts of the opposite sex while they play, as long as thou dost keep it to thyself.
(8) Thou shalt not steal thy fellow players' tokens or coins.
(9) Thou shalt not bear false witness about getting a AAA or other accomplishment, nor bear false witness against thy fellow player.
(10) Thou shalt not covet thy fellow player's DDR games; nor thy fellow player's boy- or girlfriend; nor thy fellow player's water; nor thy fellow player's AAAs, nor anything else that is thy fellow player's.
(11) Thou shalt not step on the center panel, lest thou shalt be ridiculed by thy superiors.
(12) Thou shalt not damage the machine in anger or perform moves of any kind which damage the machine, lest thou shalt be smitten.
(13) Thou shalt not utilize the bar for any purpose other than to play the game. Onlookers and passers by shall not touch the bar.
(14) Thou shalt not walk off the pad until either all songs are cleared or thou hast failed thy song. Effectively, thou shalt not leave the pad until thy game is over.
(15) Thou shalt respect coin and token lines.
Audience and Nonplayer Behavior
(16) Thou shalt not shadow (pretend to play) without permission.
(17) Thou shalt not utilize the second pad in any way without the player's perimission. Thou shalt moreover not step on any part of the pad while a player is playing in Doubles Mode.
(18) Thou shalt not step on a player's arrows, especially so if the player is playing Heavy or Oni. If thou dost, thy feet shall most likely be trampled upon in the player's attempt to hit their own arrow. This shall not be the fault of the player, for it is, after all, their arrow, and thus their job to hit it.
(19) Thou shalt not walk between the player and the screen at any time, or otherwise purposely and knowingly distract the player. To do so is to invoke the wrath of the player.
(20) Thou shalt not attempt to hold a conversation with a DDR player while they are playing. Thou shalt wait until between songs or after a game to talk. However, thou mayest cheer upon the DDR player for playing well, as well as applaud.

The most common grades are as follows in order from greatest to least: AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, E
Tournaments are often called tourneys.
There is a DDR Dictionary... http://www.ddrfreak.com/library/dictionary.php
Everybody has their favorite songs, do not criticize other's choices.
There so many more, but i want other people to post too. _________________

Pads are 221 pounds! (if you look at the front of the pad *the part facing the machine* there is a sticker that says 221 lbs, im assuming that means pad weight, not total weight it can hold. _________________

This is a very vague topic. You could easily find random facts about the game by skimming through the forums or just the site itself.
Fact: Real men play Cowgirl.

You said facts. Not uncommonly known facts. You said facts, i stated facts. Sure they are obivious, but they are facts. You should be more clear if you don't want basic facts. _________________

Something that caught me as interesting:
MaxX Unlimited Heavy's freeze arrow at the stop actually ends a 1/16 beat AFTER the stop, which means you still have to hold on to the freeze while the song is at its pause.
On The Whistle Song Heavy Double, the second stop is on a left arrow on the left pad. The arrow right after that is the right arrow on the RIGHT pad. (That, or the other way around.)
They wrote new Heavy Double steps for celebrate on Extreme, complete with freeze arrows. _________________
