I currently own an X-Box and I'm interested in getting Ultramix for it..but I'm tired of fooling with my friend's flimsy DDR mats and wanna get a metal pad. The problem is, as everybody already knows I guess, there aren't any metal pads made for X-Box. Now, I assume I can get a PS2 to XBox controller converter, has anyone tried to use a PS2 pad for Ultramix?

I really don't want to risk getting a $200 metal pad and then finding some sort of compatability problem. Any comments, guys? (Yeah, I know PS2 has a wider selection of DDR games, but I'm not willing to buy a PS2 AND pay for a high quality pad, that's just too much money).

yah a convertor works, but it will show you as using a controller online. so far there is no actual metal pad (come RO, make an xbox control box!), but you can use my mod for the soft pad. i have not broken a pad with it yet! it its also thin and durable.

I was having the same problem as you when I was using my metal pad. i thought that the adpaters would clear that up but they didn't so what my dad and I did was we took the front control box off the soft mat and used that as an external control box that shows a mat when you play. Another good part is its cheaper and you still get the sockets to plug in your headset. Here's a picture of what mine looks like. The white cabel is the cabel that goes into the mat and the black one is the xbox cable. Works like a charm.
