Everyone knows about Charmy and the "Toasty" easter egg in CVS, right? (Humor me, just say yes.) Well, I was wondering if there was a way to change the conditions on which she'll appear.

Example, I want to make her appear upon reaching a high combo. Say, either 750 or 1000. Can I tweak Stepmania CVS to make this happen, and how would I go about doing so?

Upon what I know, theres no way to change it since its an easter egg, but maybe someone knows more than I do.

Something such as this is a very comple thing. You can download the sourec code for Stepmania and actually modify the C++ code. This is probably where the variable is located. You will probably have to compile it and replace the EXE. Also it might be a child of a parent variable. You will have to have to have Microsoft Visual C++ or another C++ editor. Also you need a fairly good knowledge of C++. This is really tech heavy stuff and I don't suggest doing it unless you know what you are doing. If you understood that good luck with the coding! nerd.gif

Well, if the average Joe can't do it, I highly doubt the sub-average Howie can do it either. Thanks anyway, though.

Actually, I'm trying to increase how often she appears. I like little quirks such as these in games, but my PA tends to flounder a bit when I break a hundred Perfects, so I wanted to find a way to make her appear more often.

Sorry that i can't really help you much more. I am not very aquainted with C++. Java, VisualBasic, and Flash are my areas of expertece. Sorry i couldn't help anymore. I took some time and read the code for some parts of it. I couldn't find the variable in the program header which means that is a run-time variable or it is a child variable to the parent of the number of combos. if you decide to look for the code youself it will probably be an "if" statement or a loop using the program command "while". Also the image of the toasty and the WAV sound are actually compiled itnot the program since they are not part of any external file. You could always e-mail the makers of Stepmania and ask the to point you towards the variable so that all you have to do is change one line of code and not have to mess with all the other stuff and probably screw someting up. That is the safest route. Remember you are actually in a really good spot because you already have the source code and you don't have to hack and decompile the EXE. If you feel up to it, good luck! nerd.gif Also to .hack//zuma, the program modification that i described to remove the toasty. An example would be to set it up to require 100,000,000 prefects, an impossible amount, to make it never happen. This might me alot for the program to parse however so you might want to set it to -1. However, this is a consequence to thei too. It might read -1 as an error and crash. However, the example was just speculation, it might run on either of those or it might require a entirely diffrent solution. biggrin.gif Sorry I can't be of more help than that! riiight.gif
