Brothers with a speed-aholic... I think it's affecting me.

My brother puts everything on x1.5 or x2, and whenever I play with him I think because he puts everything on speed that I get so used to it that it messes me up on x1. Does anyone else have a situation like this? Perhaps I'm just jealous, because he seems to do better than me on harder songs.

Just use speed mods if it bothers you, they're great at getting people better at songs and once they have a grasp for them they can go back and play them through on 1x should they feel the need.

it's funny, what i do is put my poopy on stealth dark and look at the other dude's screen. and it actually helps too. so he's just got arrow reading problems.

Yeah, this is a problem I have. I've gotten used to 1.5x on everything less than about 250 bpm, and I do sooo much worse on 1x.

Some people think that I'm crazy because I put songs upwards of 200 bpm on 1.5x, such as Candy. People always tell me "Oh, you still have it on 1.5!" and I always just reply "I know." Because I seriously just do worse on 1x.

I kind of forced myself to go back to 1x when I didn't have much money and couldn't go to the arcade, so I only had Konamix to play.

It's only gone too far when Max 300 seems playable on 3X. But someone's probably done that and passed already.
People freak out the most when you speed mod any song with "Speedy Mix" in the title. My favorite is Can't Stop Fallin In Love (Speedy Mix) on 2X.

Almost any song that I put on 1.5 I just see as a foot rating lower. i.e. Holic: 8 footer. On 1.5 I consider it 7 because it's easier to read.

However, on songs like LOM I consider the 1.5 to make it about half a foot rating higher since it's way harder to react to the arrows. But thats just me.

I'm not saying that speed mods are cheating, but used to be able to read music at 200 bpm or so, and now it's really hard, and I like using x1. I try to focus on my side of the screen but I watch him play and it messes me up. I'm trying to get myself used to a slower speed.
