why can't you guys ever have faith in RO? its some pretty strong material. I do NOT see it cracking anytime soon, if ever.

Im pretty sure poly carbonate panels are the same ones they use in the actual arcade, so don't worry about them cracking.. Oh yeah also someone post pics of the inside of the pad!(If they got it recently!

Hey Katism18, can you open your other RO metal pad and take a pic of the "thin metal"?

Oh yeah, the arrows won't crack. They are made out of poly-carbonated plastic, just like the CF, which won't crack like other plastic.

Dude, I hope you know that it is made out of cheap acrylic which means cracked arrows and it uses foil contacts. You shouldn't buy that pad, it's a real scam for people who don't do their research before buying a pad. Several people have already bought it and have encountered broken arrows (acrylic plastic easily breaks for DDR) and cheap responsiveness (foil contacts, the worst kind of contact system). It's basically like a mymybox (or any other cheap brand) metal pad with a bar. And it's not from RO.

Lifespan of my RO: 3 days.

Right button isn't working, it's sunken in or something... I'll probably end up sending it back for a new one, but I don't plan on opening it up, because it would probably just void the warranty.

red octane pads use copper foil for their contacts.. meaning over time it just won't work
red octane also uses cheap plastic/plexiglass which will be cracking in a few months

cobalt flux on the other hand uses galvenized steel contacts... which will NEVER break
cobalt flux also uses lexan which is bulletproof and almost shatterproof which means it will never break

Ur stupid shut up now.

They just changed the red octane pad. now it probaly has metal contacts.
And if you didnt know poly carbonated panels are the same as what the arcade, so the only way it could crack is by stepping on it 1000000000000000000000000000 times.

Yeah, both RO and CF use poly-carbonated plastic, so neither one of them will break. But the CF uses sheet metal on sheet metal contacts while RO uses "thin metal" on a copper sensor. This isn't good because the copper contact will get burn marks and very dirty which will complete the connection, it also uses this foam stuff around the copper contact to make the arrow rise after you have pressed it, but this isn't as good as CFs which uses velcro, so the contacts are very close but held apart by the velcro, and when you press, the lexan bends down slightly to make the contact and quickly rises after you press to straighten out. The foam in the RO won't expand as fast as the the CFs method, so chances are, after some time after the foam wears down, you'll encounter ghost steps after you step on an arrow because the foam takes to long to expand and push the arrow back up.
