|
|
I recently received points for an infraction (don't worry, I'm not here to insult anyone, I was blatantly guilty and deserved the points I got). But that got me wondering about something.
One would normally assume that moderators and administrators are all-powerful beings who can do no wrong. However, though they do enforce the rules, and hardly ever do anything bad themselves, they are only human like the rest of us, which leads me to the question:
Can mods get points?? If so, have any of the mods here ever received points (or a ban) for anything? If I may ask, whatever for? _________________

Sure we can, but we are the ones who should know the rules inside and out, so it would happen very rarely. But I am guilty of getting out of line slightly before. Or people getting out of line for me. _________________

As already stated, it is rare for a mod to get points, mainly because the moderators rarely do something wrong.
Howerver, it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. One mod gave herself points for flaming once. She probably should have just not flamed, but at least she was honest and punished herself for it _________________

And that was back when warning points didn't go away. _________________

Yes, but I do believe that it was retroactive, so those points would have disappeared.
And if not it's not like she would have been banned =P _________________

Didn't the mods have a warn war once upon a time a while back? I remember reading that some of the mods built up a few hundred points... _________________

Oh, that's still going on, but it's not for things that we did. It's an ongoing list of who has given out X number of warns, the total number of points given, and the average number of points given per warn.
Here's the current top ten. First number is number of warns, followed by the sum of warns, and then the average points per warn.
Spike: 852/2630/3.09
MiltyKiss: 402/1664/4.14
IguanaGrrl: 380/1087/2.86
Junior Asparagus: 360/779/2.16
P-Chan: 246/842/3.42
Kennywood: 188/666 (gasp)/3.54
Remy: 185/410/2.22
DarkSakura: 176/399/2.27
Tamarik: 168/621/3.7
J Dogg: 158/372/2.35
I think it's funny that I was gone for a few months and no one has even gotten CLOSE to catching up to me. By the way, the reason why some people have over 3 points per average warn is because of the way we re-ban people that come back. 9 point warn liek whut. _________________

I never have, but I'm sure it's had to have happened at least once...
I warned myself for flamebait. I was sorta joking around with some people, but one of them called me on it. ::shrugs:: _________________

Can mods be banned? I know that "blah blah, they don't mess up", but I'm wondering more on the technical side.
A moderator can post in locked threads. So if one gets 9 points, could s/he still have the ability to post? |

Moderators can't post in locked topics. They can unlock a topic, post, and relock it again, though.
I'm sure that if a mod got 9 points (or even got close to 9 points), s/he would be stripped of his mod status. Though, I'm sure we can still get banned, even if we have our little green foot. |

HAHA!
So which is it? Can they post in locked topics, or do they have to unlock it first? _________________
