[quote="Agent Smith"]I got one:
If thou's number of songs is 4, then thou shalt not platyth 3, 2, is thy number that thou shalt not count, and 5 is right out,
Dude, you quoted it wrong and as a Monty Python guru i must correct it.
"If thou art to play four songs, four shall be the number of songs thou shalt play. Thou shalt not play 2 songs or 3 songs, unless thou art proceeding directly to four. 5 is right out, unless thou get a AA on thy fourth song. After playing thy four (or five) songs, thou shalt step off the pad, having appeased thy Bemani gods and done good deeds in their sights, and worship DDR for ever and ever. Amen" _________________

I thought this thing died, then it suddenly jumped back up to the first page with 65 replies and the little popularity animation. I was like "Oh my God, this is so cool! (How did this happen?)"
If thou dost follow the twenty commandments of DDR, the LORD shall rain down his blessings upon thee and thou shalt have more luck PA'ing.
And if thine audience dost not follow the twenty commandments, the LORD shall rain down his wrath and vengeance upon them and they shall not do well at their first attempt at DDR.
Thou shalt post these twenty commandments at thy local arcade, that the people might see them, and that they might follow them.
I feel like blessing everyone who made this thing a real success so guess what?

About thinking dirty thoughts, I have mild problems avoiding those. Yes, I'm a perv. All I need to say about thinking dirty thoughts about the characters though, is you do realize you're getting dirty thoughts about only a couple dozen polygons, right? It's only pixels....
On the wasabi deal, it's green horseradish. Ever have straight average horseradish? That would be about the heat level as a heavily diluted wasabi mixture. I saw a movie recently, one of the characters didn't recognize the wasabi, and had a whole mouthful in one bite. I was doubled over in sympathetic pain. And I happen to like spicy foods a lot.
About the current #10, I'll covet whatever I feel like, but I'll keep it to myself. Thievery is bad, mmkay? _________________

I just printed out several of these, one (or maybe more) of which I will post at the Laserdome (hopefully with the employees' permission). Seems it fits nicely on a single sheet of legal size paper.
Also, I made this post to bump up a wonderful topic. All discussion, as always, is welcome. _________________

Yeah, this thing's definately worth keeping up front. Great work! For the arcade owners/managers, there should be a "Thou shalt maintain the DDR machine at ALL TIMES!" on there, and if they fail, we take over the arcade and play for free forever! _________________

LOL. Very nice if I do say so myself. I agree though, there should be one exclusively for Arcade owners dealing with their important responsibility to maintain/unlock the Machine. 21 wouldn't sound like a bad number, as that is also a catchy breaking point, no? |

Note to Everyone
I have modified this list of what is now 20 Commandments. Some have been organized or modified, and five have been added, therefore commandment numbers referenced in the first 2 or 3 pages of posts may be incorrect. Since I believe after receiving suggestions that it is now complete, I have modified it and put it in such a format that it can be printed out and posted on your local machine. Print out what is between the two long lines of dashes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 20 DDR Commandments
General DDR Commandments
(1) DDR is thy game; thou shalt have no other games before it.
(2) Thou shalt not play cheap spinoffs of DDR, or create for thyself any likeness. (Thou shalt, however, feel free to make edits in Edit Mode on the home console versions.)
(3) Thou shalt not take the name of DDR in vain.
(4) Remember Bemani, to keep it holy.
Behavior of Players and Other General Behavior
(5) Honor those who are more skilled than thyself, for one day thou mayest end up playing with them.
(6) Thou shalt not kill newbies, for they know not what they do, and one day they mayest end up playing with you.
(7) Thou mayest think dirty thoughts of the opposite sex while they play, as long as thou dost keep it to thyself.
(8) Thou shalt not steal thy fellow players' tokens or coins.
(9) Thou shalt not bear false witness about getting a AAA or other accomplishment, nor bear false witness against thy fellow player.
(10) Thou shalt not covet thy fellow player's DDR games; nor thy fellow player's boy- or girlfriend; nor thy fellow player's water; nor thy fellow player's AAAs, nor anything else that is thy fellow player's.
(11) Thou shalt not step on the center panel, lest thou shalt be ridiculed by thy superiors.
(12) Thou shalt not damage the machine in anger or perform moves of any kind which damage the machine, lest thou shalt be smitten.
(13) Thou shalt not utilize the bar for any purpose other than to play the game. Onlookers and passers by shall not touch the bar.
(14) Thou shalt not walk off the pad until either all songs are cleared or thou hast failed thy song. Effectively, thou shalt not leave the pad until thy game is over.
(15) Thou shalt respect coin and token lines.
Audience and Nonplayer Behavior
(16) Thou shalt not shadow (pretend to play) without permission.
(17) Thou shalt not utilize the second pad in any way without the player's perimission. Thou shalt moreover not step on any part of the pad while a player is playing in Doubles Mode.
(18) Thou shalt not step on a player's arrows, especially so if the player is playing Heavy or Oni. If thou dost, thy feet shall most likely be trampled upon in the player's attempt to hit their own arrow. This shall not be the fault of the player, for it is, after all, their arrow, and thus their job to hit it.
(19) Thou shalt not walk between the player and the screen at any time, or otherwise purposely and knowingly distract the player. To do so is to invoke the wrath of the player.
(20) Thou shalt not attempt to hold a conversation with a DDR player while they are playing. Thou shalt wait until between songs or after a game to talk. However, thou mayest cheer upon the DDR player for playing well, as well as applaud.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(For DDRFreak) <Dedicated to Spike> When on the DDRFreak forums, thou shalt read the FAQ.
Feel free to discuss these commandments, your likes, dislikes, or times you've seen people disobeying these commandments. I hope you had as much fun reading them as I did typing them. |
I love it! However, two problems are in 'thy' way. There aren't many Dance pads near me, but as soon as I find one, I will (Of course ask you and the manager for permission first) tap it up on the Back bar of the machine for everyone to read.... _________________

I couldn't bring myself to receive points for *just* bumping it, but I wanted to do something because everyone who saw it the first time loved it and I wanted all the newer people to see it. So I have made several minor corrections and worded a few things differently to make them easier to understand.
For those with no clue what I'm referring to, I mean the list of 20 DDR commandments, found on the first page of this thread. Instead of copying and pasting it every time I make a correction, I instead edit the first post to make the changes.
I still remember that I was a Basic member back when I first posted this thing; but it's still hilarious (and a good rule-set) today. Wow, I've been here a long time. lol
Further discussion within this topic is encouraged.
