IIDX 7th style is out and about

I dunno what's going on with the home Bemani releases - even the DDR releases are quite a bit lagged behind their arcade counterparts, and it was really in question whether Extreme would come out at all for a while (and we were all surprised by the October release, when I had settled for getting it either in Spring 2004 or not at all).

It seems like the only Bemani getting timely console releases is pop'n music - with the console releases getting so much bonus stuff, it's more than worth the money. The pop'n ASC is also the only one that has sold enough to justify more than several batches of them...

Yeah...well I know that PNM is really popular right now...and it's getting timed releases (PNM 9 is comming out soon). But with every other Bemani game we get stiffed for home release....

The thing about PnM is that unlike IIDX and DDR, unless you have the ASC, the 'regular' home controller does not simulate the arcade machine's controls. You don't get the 'arcade feel'. DDR has metal pads. IIDX's standard controller is adequate to the arcade. So I can fully undertand why the PnM ASC sold/sells so well.

I just want to say congratulations to everyone who participated. I saw this thread a little too late, but i wanted to give some insight from my own little corner over here. A friend of mine just bought the EX CS, and it came with a magazine that had a cover for IIDX 9th Style. Of course, we don't know any japanese, so we couldn't tell you what it said... But it had the cover for 9th. So that may answer some questions, and probably raise some more.

IIDX 9th is the newest arcade release. It's still a good number of months old, though. He probably got an old issue that they sent to people who ordered games to clear them out.

(posting this to this thread and the IIDX thread)

So, I guess no one noticed the line near the end of the Konamistyle newsletter last week with the words "beatmania IIDX 7th style" in English.

The translation says, essentially, "Next week we'll talk more about 7th style".

"Next week" is the next newsletter, which comes out Friday - which is tomorrow.

Hopefully we'll get some concrete details.

There's no release date listed, and reservations will start "in a few days", meaning sometime next week I'd imagine.

This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm just really starting to get into IIDX, and I'm eating 6th Style up... to know there's more to come now is just sweet!

That said, I hope I'll be able to pre-order it. I don't mind dealing with importers one bit, but they were talking about it being konamistyle only...
