No, this isn't another topic about songs that get played too much at your local arcade ([comment edited out for no reason])... The question is, which songs do you think have too high a foot rating? For me, the Standard difficulty of "Busy Child" on the US DDRMAX2 is a six at most, not the seven it's listed as... With practice I can clear it with a B or higher, while most 7s I flat out can't handle. (Hence my signature.) [Although I am starting to get good at MAX2's Challenge mixes, but only on the home pad.] As for you?...

SAKURA definitely!

There is no way that is a 10 foot frust.gif . Who even considers it a 10. I think it should probably be a 9 foot, maybe an 8 but probably still a 9. The oni should be an 8 foot. This song is definitely overrated difficulty wise. Sorry to the people that are happy to pass their first 10 and it was Sakura but its not.

Cow Girl. Back when I could just barely pass most 7s, I could quite easily AA Cow Girl on Heavy (listed as an 8!). What a crock. But I still love that song. E4.gif

Honestly, no offense to the creator of this thread, but why does everybody feel the need to question the foot ratings?

Extreme has been out for almost a year and yes we all know that Sakura is an easy 10-footer. Freckles is an easy 7-footer yet we don't have an army of people saying "OMG FRECKLES SHOULD BE A 6!!! OMG I GOT A C!!!" The foot ratings are a range. It would be impossible for every 10-footer to be of the same difficulty and the same goes for any other rating. Using 7-footers as an example, there are some easy 7s to help players transition to heavy mode (read: Freckles, Nothing Gonna Stop, Nori Nori Nori). There are medium difficulty 7s like, in my opinion, Miracle Moon, Look At Us, Firefly. Then there are more difficult 7s (songs like Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Long Train Runnin'). It makes it easier to transition to the higher ratings. Imagine how hard it would be for a new player to pass their first cata if all catas were as hard as Healing Vision Angelic Mix. To help transition to 9s, there are songs like Dead End, Matsuri Japan, and Twilight Zone. Players can get further adjusted to the higher speed before attempting HVAM.

Comparing Sakura to 10s like Paranoia Survivor Max, MaxX Unlimited, yes make Sakura look like less than a 10. Comparing Cartoon Heroes to My Summer Love makes MSL look like a 7. Paranoia Survivor looks like a 9 when you compare it to Max. (period). It doesn't make PS look like any less of a 10. Sakura has a high speed and helps players transition to medium-10s like Max300 and PS. These medium 10s help players transition to the hardest 10s (PSMoni, MU).

Sorry for the rant but I personally get sick and tired of reading at least 7 times a day on these board that "Sakura isn't a real 10" or "OMG I passed my first cata, even though it wasn't a real cata, it was Drop Out (From Nonstop Megamix)."

I can only imagine if Konami went back to just using the Groove Radar. What would people bitch about? Ahhh yes, speed mods and bar using.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I dont think it's overrated, because everyone knows it's not a 10 footer...now if every one thought it was a 10 footer, but you found it easy, then yeah...that would be overrated...i dunno...that's just my opinion.

Yes, on the preproduction version of Max 2, So Deep was labeled 10 (on a side note, Twilight Zone was only an 8). Would that right though?

Initally, when we first got the Max 2, I thought so. But now when I think about it, 9 is a more accurate rating; as hard as that song is, the 10 footers (even Sakura) are much harder. So 9 it is.

There are only two songs that seem far off enough for me to comment: Bag is way too easy with speed mods to be a 10, and Waka Laka is way too hard to be an 8.

sakura is the #1 overrated... it is NOT a 10 footer... if i can FC a 10 footer... its not a 10 footer... lol

Kakumei shouldnt be 9 footer.

.... hmm

Lets see here. bag is a true 10 footer that is on 1x and 8x... its just people play it at 2x, and say they passed a 10 footer which is totally BS.

i agree, waka laka should be 10... am-3p should be 7.... what else.... witch doctor... im not sure about this one... but its pretty hard on pad to me at 1x... i think it should be 9.... those are all that i can think of.

none of the songs mentioned thus far strike me as off enough to deserve a different foot rating. NONE.

I think Waka Laka's an 8. Maybe a 9 tops, but definitely not a 10... the only part I really have trouble with is that single-single-single-jump string about 2/3rds of the way through.

I've always though Cartoon Heroes should be a 10. I can pass some of the harder 9's like HVAM, and even Sakura. But Cartoon Heroes just kills me every time... it's definitely harder than Sakura. So, if Sakura's a 10, Cartoon Heroes should be too.

ok

spin the disc should definatly be a six.
Sakura is an easy 10

Speed mods are extra, not part of the game.
you put them on to help you out.

bag is a 10, just a different kind, reading 10.

so deep is the ninest 9 in the world, it is waaaaaay to easy to be close to a ten.

waka laka should be a 9

cartoon heros is a good 9, not close to a ten.
