No, I meant it wasn't shaped well because with the headphone portion over one of my ears, the microphone is at the corner of my mouth. It fits over my head fine.

Folks, unless you can read kanji/katakana/whatever, you are not going to want to import this. The lyrics are not romanized.

Ok, I have never participated in Karaoke every in my life, but I found it strange that some people I know did not want this game, because the lyrics were not sung by the original artists... Would this only apply to the preview music? Because I find it very stupid to have to "sing" over the real voice. Please put my simple mind to rest. |

Well, first of all, if you ever DO go karaoke in real life, you'd know that they almost NEVER have the songs sung by the original artist. It would just cost way more as far as fees go, I guess. So I don't know why yhay would be such a turn-off. Plus, they usually sound reasonably close. And you're singing anyway, so it's not like it matters too much.
Second, the vocal tracks are there, but you can increase or decrease the volume of them to your liking. So if you don't want to sing over the vocals, you can just turn them down. _________________

Finding romanized lyrics for japanese songs isn't exactly hard. Just get that, print it off, and a way you go. |

That's akin to grabbing a step chart here, printing it off, and holding it in front of your face while you play. What's the point? _________________

But still, a Japanese version of this game would rock with anime/jpop lyrics. Especially if your friends come over and you invite them to karaoke with them. And then you start singing these strange words. Wait maybe that's not a good idea. your friends might disown you. Or something.
HOWEVER!! I do enjoy this game very much. Even if I did fail music schoolcbecause I can't sing very well. HA!! I've gotten several platnum records already. I can put this on my resume. EAT THAT TEACHERS.
And on a related note (HAHA PUN) I attempted playing the notes on a keyboard into the mic (I think for "Kiss Me") and the game registered them as perfect pitches. _________________

Nope, no rumours. Although I had a recent Q&A session with some konami and Harmonix workers, so I may get some answers on the Expansion disks soon. _________________

No rumors of actual US expansion discs, but hey, the game DID just come out. Just wait a while.
I mean, some of the staff on this site worked on the game (see them in the unlock videos), and still more of us did some play-testing with the game before it was released. Assuming the game did/does well, expansions will be coming. Patience! _________________

Alright, so I may be the only one who thinks this, but this game isn't that great. It really helps if you like the songs. I pretty much hate all of them. And the characters you play just don't look good. They scare me. So I hope I won't be getting any hate mail. . . _________________

Agreed.... All the characters are, as one might expect, girl-ified. Choosing from some very feminine-looking male avatars is not exactly ego-assuring considering you'll inevitably spend the next five minutes singing 'Like a Virgin' in falsetto... _________________

It's true. The songs are not sung by the original artists. IT's is more noticable on some songs than others, but it's true.
Yes, the game does play the tracks to sing over. I highly suggest you leave them ON at first, because you must hear how THEY sing it to match THEIR pitch. They dont' sing it just like the real versions, and sometimes ther is a noticable pitch shift in their version. I was conistently low on both bizzare Love Triangle and Hey, Jealousy, and i know those songs. _________________

So I read the Japanese version was really bad. Well... compared to the US version. The Japanese version is like if you were actually at a Karaoke bar. Midi-ish music with no singing, and just some videos in the background. Hardly any furigana (if you don't even know what furigana is, then don't even bother with the game =P). _________________
