I used to think I didn't play well if people were watching, but eventually I realized the real problem --- if people are watching, it's usually because they are waiting to play. And I don't start to play really well until I've played several games IN A ROW, without even taking a break to sit down. Every good game I've ever played has been after playing at least 3 games in a row without taking a break...
