i wanna see how many people have ciblings who hate ddr besides me.

my brother absolutely hates it. there is nothing i could say that would make him even try it. once i get my home version (which he has tried to talk me out of getting) he will probably try it since its free. but we made an agreement. we agreed to get the pad(BNS DX) for christmas and play stepmania until i have enuf money to buy the real home version myself.

my little sister doenst really hate it, but she doesnt like me playing stepmania and only playing ddr at the arcade. she says "UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH, is that all you play!?!? ur such a DDRFREAK!!!!!

my older sister just doesnt like it. i think what turned her off is watching me play while i was on light 4 footers (now im a hvy 7-8 footer) so she would eenjoy watching it more now, but shes just not into video games.

my mom doesnt like it either. when she first saw me play, she said "so why do u have so much energy when playing a video game but when ur at home ur the slowest person in the house? well until u start moving that fast at home, dont play ddr" E2.gif

my dad is the only person who enjoys watching me play. hes the one who said i should get a home version (i waas gonna get one ne way) and hes gonna buy me a pad 4 christmas.

anyone else have family members who hate ddr?

Despite my mom being a fan of dance/club music, she insists that she can't find any difference between Captain Jack and PARANOiA. Figure that one out. disturb.gif

I live on my own so my family's opinion of the game is not a big deal for me. My dad and step mom do approve of the game. They think it is a great workout and asked me about getting the game for my younger sisters. My dad even gave me 10$ to take my younger sisters out to the arcade to play. E1.gif

My parents love watching me play DDR at the mall. My dad gave me five bucks the other day to go play it, and when they came to pick me up, dad walks up when I'm playing Mr. Wonderful as a wind down (Hey, five bucks worth of DDR makes ya tired! LOL) and he says, "Hey, if I stand up here, will it bug you?" and by that, he meant the 2P area. I said no, so he bounces up and starts mimicking me only in the way an person who's TRYING their HARDEST to annoy you can. It was hilarious, because my dad is a big guy, like 6'4" and two hundred and ten pounds. That's a big dude to be bouncin' like a maniac on a DDR machine, just to make his daughter laugh. LOL. So I told him, "yeah, dad, now THAT bugs me!" and he laughs and gets off....hehehe...my parents just get a kick out of DDR....

You'd think your family would be supportive of what you do, but I guess not always...

Besides, tell them to chill, becasue it's just a freakin' game.

And mainstream music sucks.

DDR was kinda strange for me.

My mom didn't mind it, and that was cool, she thought it was neat getting exercise from a video game.

My dad surprised me even more, he thought it was really neat, and even he played a game or two, not too bad either for someone almost 50.

Bummer re: people who don't get much support from family... just remember that when you have kids, it will make you a better parent.

My family doesn't have a problem with it.

My little bro plays...but only the lesson modes and a few songs. For some reason he won't play on the arcade. (it's hard to persuade an autistic child).
My sister used to play, but her asthma has gotten in the way so she doesn't play as much..same for my brother..but he never plays anyway.

My mom says that DDR is good for me and that I will lose wieght. E1.gif

my mom hates it because I spend so much of my money on it. In fact, I think she hates anything having to do with movement or dance that I get involved in or want to get involved in.

I'm guessing she's just jealous because I like to move around and dance and such, and she's too embarassed to do any of that stuff, or so I assume.
