hated distractions...

what is something that may distract you in the middle of playing? or has distracted you? sometimes when i see a hot girl outta the corner of my eye walking through the mall, i look over at her then back at my screen and half of my life bar is gone, lol.

asian girls!!! my god, i love them to death, so cuuutteee!!!

every time i see them, i feel i must look "cool" even though i cant freestyle at all, which makes my perfects become greats... and ughh... but oh well, the ones at port authority cant play that well anyway... and they tend to play in the hidden machine... where i trail them then show off there with harder songs and they go "wow"!

also, shadowers that shadow without asking!!! That pisses the hell outta me...

and finally... LOUDER GAMES! At port authority, they have these fighters everywhere which are so much louder! Also, there are these NFL BLITZ machines and the game isnt that loud but the PLAYERS are screaming at the top of their lungs...

why do i play there? $1 for 3 songs, which is decent in the middle of manhattan

Shadowing off to the side or behind me )which is what I usually try to do myself) is one thing... jumping up on the pad next to me and doing it without asking is another. That always bugs the heck out of me.

At MIT, there's an air hockey table near the DDR machine, and sometimes when people are playing air hockey the puck will get hit so hard it flies off the table and whizzes by the DDR machine, occasionally bouncing off it... or the person playing. I've only seen it a couple times, but I imagine it's rather distracting when it happens.

Besides the usual shadowers and kids, and even the special blend of shadowing kids, I'd have to say my own hunger is quite a factor.

One notable incident was when I was stuffing my face with fried chicken during Sexy Planet, but I only played Basic at the time, so I didn't have to worry about my life nearly as much.

Yeah, I know what that feels like...I was eating an ice cream cone while doing Ska a Go Go for the first time....whoopsie! Running at the end while eating the ice cream had people laughing for like 3 minutes!

Oh, yeah....I do have a problem with Shadowers. If they don't know the song. Nothing worse than hearing someone stomp out the WRONG beat. Eff-tards.

Little kids playing with toys. At my arcade, the prize redemption desk is right next to the DDR machines. So when kids get their new hackey sack, rubber ball or airplane, they just HAVE to test it out right away. Nothing has wandered onto the pad while I'm playing, but it's an accident waiting to happen.

Little kids.

Omg they are distracting. There are sitting booths nearby the DDR machine and the parents don't even watch their kids. The kids usually go on the other side of the machine, and then try to stomp on one of my dance arrows. I always get nervous because I am afriad that I will step on their feet/hands.

Then the older punks who think it's cool to throw me off my concentration by stepping on the game and running. Grrr...

The Whack-a-gator game is right next to the DDR machine. Normally, you can't even hear it, but once in a while some little kid will proceed to POUND THE LIVING BEEJESUS out of it. It is LOUD, believe me. Imagine a line of canons going off next to you while you're trying to play, one or two every second. Yeah.

i don't usually have a problem with shadowers... only when i'm playing an oni and they can't keep it and throws me off beat.

or when the arcade worker decides to empty the coin bin inside the machine while you're playing, as if they can't wait one minute for you to finish that song... -_-

or when you're playing in the mall and employees from other stores are complaining about the music so they have to turn it down to where you can't even hear the beat to your song...

or the "thuggish" type people doing the harlem shake thing when you're playing

or... when people go to put their coins on the coin line and they have to put their whole body in front of the screen.

it's all fun though

"Thugs with OG Status" and chicken heads (Ecko knows what im talkin' about) Little Kids piss me of the most though..I remember one time when a kid kept asking me to do Max 300 when i had done MaxX Unlimited as my 2nd song...Of course i told him to shut the hell up and yes he walked away (scared)

So whenever I go to the arcade I make sure to have a group of people crowd around the machine so little kids would think twice about playinig
