Could someone post what the seasonal Target ad looks like, so I (and others) would know what ad to look for to get the Karaoke Revolution coupon inside? Thanks.

The game is a ton of fun. Me, my wife, and Phrekwenci have been playing for most of the afternoon, and its a blast. Cheers to Konami and Harmonix.

And it's very reassuring to see native expansion disc support built in. Looking forward to seeing what Konami cranks out.

Edit:

YOU ALL MUST REQUEST MURMUR TWINS BY yu_tokiwa.djw FOR AN EXPANSION DISC.

Okay - I haven't bought the game (That's because the people at GameStop are jerks and won't order the game. And no other place has it yet.) but I did get to play a little bit when my friend brought it over, plus I've read the previews and visited the website to check out the songlist.

My conclusion is - I think the game rocks. The songlist is definitely choice. I was personally psyched to make a fool out of myself trying to sing Alien Ant Farm's "Smooth Criminal" and other random songs. laugh.gif

What annoys me is the huge number of people I saw on this thread alone complaining about how there were no Konami Originals/JPop on the game.

I'll say this slowly so everyone can understand. happy.gif;

The game is an AMERICAN SINGING GAME. Guess what that means - It's going to have american music on it! *GASP!* What a concept. disgust.gif

And besides - this game was NOT made to cater specifically to the BEMANI fanatics. (Is it even in the BEMANI series...?) It's made for everyone else who wants to have a fun time with their friends, singing. How many people outside the BEMANI community (as in - avid players) would buy Karaoke Revolution IF the songlist was comprised of songs like Love Love Shine, B4U, true..., Drop the Bomb and Mahou no Tobira?

No one. Exactly. Even if the songlist had songs from Puffy Ami Yumi, Ayumi Hamasaki, Morning Musume, TM Revolution and Megumi Hayashibara - then you'd only end up with some rabid anime fans.

The game wouldn't sell too well to the general public and be considered a flop. I personally don't want that.

I think the game is great with the songlist it has and I look forward for future expansions with more American music.

For all the people wanting JPop - don't buy the game! Get the Japanese version, but quit whining. The rest of us are happy with the turnout.

Very well put, Zajitarrius.

I took a peek at the JP Version songlist of it. Impressive. I hope they can dish out the same for the US Version. I personally want to see a little more R&B songs.

I got mine from Best Buy last night and played it after I went drinking with my friends. Heh, it was a fun time.

I agree with everything you said Zajitarrius. Good job.

Two points real quick though-
This game is an official part of the Bemani series (is it says Bemani in multiple places...).
While I think its an good idea for the original game to cater more towards the mainstream, I would like to see a "Bemani mix" which would have a bunch of long version songs from other Bemani games.

I think they could have included a couple Bemani songs at least. Superstar would have been really good on it.

Uh, no superstar wouldn't work.

Because you actually have to SING. Rapping is not singing.

This game is fun, and the easy mode is like really easy on some songs. I've gotten 2 songs with 100% greats. It looks like the score tops out at 50000, because the highest I got was 49997 with 100%.

And damn this game is fun. E1.gif

To be honest, I wasn't interested in KR at all. But now I'm seriously considering getting it.

How could I not? I've only seen positive reactions. And there are quite a few songs on there that I really like.

I just got it today after reading these reviews.... But the game confirmed it for me. I suck at singing. Badly. But I managed to stumble through and unlock One Week. Can you imagine my surprise when I took a look at the video and saw a few familiar faces? hahaha if you're out there and still reading the forums good job. It definitely put a smile on my face.

It's a great game, and I can't wait to unleash it at the next party. I have absolutely no complaints about the song selection. As for the grading system, I'll let someone more talented critique that :)

Nope. I've got 50003 with 100% on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. E15.gif Not sure how that happened!
