So I guess it is safe to say that psx-tech.com is a reliable place to have your PS2 Modded? If you had him mod your ps2 could please tell me how well the job was?

We'll, between myself, family and friends, we've gotten 3 ps2's and 7 or 8 ps1's modded by him...We're all on the East Coast....Took about 2 weeks from the day we sent (priority mail) to get em back.
Each and every one of them is working perfectly still as if they were brand new outta the box...A few of them are even transported around on a regular basis and are a true testiment to his soldering skills.
Needless to say, I highly reccomend him.

I am really, really pissed off.
I bought a flip top mod and installed it correctly. I have a Magic 2.0 disk and DDR Extreme. I'm doing the switch technique perfectly like I'm supposed and get to the "insert disk" screen with the starry background , press X, but it STILL DOESN'T FRIGGIN WORK!
At first, I though there was scratch on the DDR EXtreme. It looked a lot like there was, so I bought that CD repair doctor and fixed it. Tried again and I still got the frickin pink border. What the hell is wrong with my mod? Someone please help me.
Now, here is my anger being let loose in small print:
DAMMIT! I HATE KONAMI SO FRREAKIN' MUCH. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST MAKE A GOOD AMERICAN MIX FOR ONCE? THEY CAN JUST GO TO HELL! I HATE THEM, HATE THEM, HATE THEM!!!!!WHY DO I HAVE TO MOD MY PS2 TO PLAY IMPORTS? WHY DON'T THEY JUST TAKE THE CODING OUT? *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* _________________

I know how u feel the same thing happened to me. I have a solution, go to my post on page 20 and look for the website I posted. It's the newer one. It's a universal PS2. It explanes everything on the website. I'm going to get 1 no matter what, but it's exspensive. Be sure to read all of my post. |

Hmm, that's funny. I have never had a problem with the swapmagic disks. The only time I have had a pink border is when the disk is not seated correctly. It tends to get hung up on the edge of the tray if you just drop it in. Make sure that it is seated correctly on the spindle and that it rotates with no friction, then close the lid. It should work fine. My friend was having the same problem until I told him to make sure it was seated correctly. Hope this helps. _________________

I agree.
I have used extreme, and my swap disks about 150+ times, and never once, have I even doubted that it would not work. About 3 seconds after hitting the X button, the game is already loading the various Konami screens.
The game is seated properly when you can gently spin it with your finger, and it rotates a little bit.
Also, this isn't a burned game is it? |

Is it a burned game, or the original? |

This is probably a repeat question (either that or nobody will read it), but what online storefront is the most trustworthy, reliable, and all around best place to purchase 6th Mix from? Some of them don't offer it anymore or have them out of stock. I need a place that has it, as well as being in-stock (at least for the foreseeable future).
Thanks. |

Quick question about FlipTop/SwapMagic: Would I be able to play burned DVD copies of Japanese Max/Max2/EX on it?
I ask because I already have Max/Max2, and I should be ordering EX soon, but I intend to apply the patches that are available over in the EX thread that make the Timing Window tighter. Therefore, I need to know if I will be able to.
Thanks. |

Thanks for replying, but what I was really looking for was a site that offered the game(s) that was known to be reliable from prior experience. Having not purchased from either of the vendors listed in the first post of this thread, nor the one you mentioned, I can't really make an accurate judgement about the quality of service they offer. I read somewhere that BuyRite is completely worthless, but that's all I know right now. Thanks anyway.
Anybody else? Remember, I'm mainly looking for Max1jp to be in stock (at least within the very near future). |

Gamebaz has a good rep for cheap games. I coulda sworn I removed Buy Rite Games. All the other sites listed have good ratings and are legit. _________________

Does anyone have a good place to buy the Swap Magic and Flip-top cover from? Is there any place that I should avoid?
Also, I don't have a credit card or a Pay-Pal account, so I need a place that accepts money orders. _________________

Just want to point out that PrecisionMods has relesed a add-on for PS2 modchips. It alows all current chips to bypass the antimod in ALL PSX antimod games. A boon for Magic 3.1 users. Check out the link below.

I got my copy of Extreme through Ebay from them. They were very nice and helpful in their emails. I'd recommend them _________________

I want a reliable chip that will NOT break in 5 seconds, plays ALL imports, ALL. Also, I want it to play backups, and I definately don't want it fucking up ANY parts of my Ps2. It sucks enough. Also, I don't want to have to spend more than 110 on it. Any help?
Also, where can I get my Ps2 fixed from sony? Shizt, I suck. _________________
